What are good green smoothie recipes for weight loss?

This is a great question. Depending on your personal tastes, I would suggest trying to include the lowest amount of high-sugar fruits as possible. Here's a site that lists low, medium and high-sugar fruits: Low Sugar FruitsThis is because you can get more than your daily allowance of sugar just from one green smoothie, but you really want to avoid lots of sugar if you're trying to lose weight. I recently started making green smoothies every morning because I joined a challenge from Simple Green Smoothies. My basic recipe is this:1 cup (8 oz) unsweetened So Delicious Vanilla Coconut Milk1 cup (8 oz) pure water2 cups (about 1 and a half big handfuls) of leafy greens2 cups frozen fruit (usually some combination of berries or some combination of pineapple/kiwi/mango/orange/lime/peach)I also sometimes add in other "super-foods" like chia seeds, fresh aloe from my garden, maca powder, and/or almond butter/peanut butter. The chia seeds and nut butters make the smoothie keep me full longer.If you want more specific recipes, their website has some really yummy ones. Simple Green Smoothies - It's not a diet. It's a lifestyle. I'm not an affiliate or anything of this company, I just looked to their website a lot recently to figure out combinations of fruits that I like. I feel a lot better now that I have been drinking these smoothies every morning - I have more energy and I feel good knowing I am getting a lot of greens each day. Substitute for spinach in a green monster smoothie?

I agree with others that Romaine, sometimes called Romano I believe, is fairly high in nutrients. Sounds good in your smoothie. If I were using carrots, too, I would steam them first.

Maybe sometime in the future, you could try it with a bagful of mixed spring greens that include stuff like dandelion greens. If you don't use any weedkiller or pesticides, you could pick some from your own yard or garden. Would be good if we could get some use from those weeds. I just posted a question in Garden & Landscape to make sure those lowly dandelions in the yard are the same as those sold in the stores.

Ingredients:

1 small frozen ripe banana, peeled
2 cups baby spinach
1 tbsp Better n Peanut Butter
3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1/2 cup plain fat-free Greek yogurt (I used Chobani)

Directions:
Place all the ingredients into the blender, add ice (optional) and blend until smooth.
You can really make this so many ways, add flax seeds, add protein powder, throw in blueberries, etc. Start with this basic recipe and play around with variations. Give it a try!

3/4 cup light coconut milk
6 oz fat free Greek yogurt
3/4 cup fresh pineapple, cubed
1 ripe medium banana
1 cup spinach
2 tbsp sweetened shredded coconut
1 1/4 cups ice

Put everything into the blender and blend until smooth. Makes about 3 1/2 cups.

I like both for the simple reason that i love milk! This is my easy + lazy homemake smoothie. Yakult or vitagen (if your country has not banned probiotic-culture milk), big spoonfuls of strawberry yogurt, handful of blueberries or strawberries.

Healthy smoothie recipes for weight loss?

I have one for breakfast everyday. I use a banana, and some type of other fruit (I mix it up so I dont get sick of it lol) Then I use some skim or almond milk. You will need some protien so that you dont get hungry an hour later, and have energy. I suggest going to walmart or someplace like that and buying a protien powder. I buy one and it is about 15.00 for a jar, and I use one scoop every morning and it last me about a month. Just make sure that the Protien powder you are buying isnt loaded with sugar or yucky fake ingredients and preservatives. You can reaseach them online as well. Some are really expensive, and some are ok. I use a whey protien one, I get it from our local co-op as where I live there are no supermarkets or walmarts. They come in all different shapes, flavours, and all claim different things, so make sure you check the labels. The one I have also has several vitamins as well. I also buy just the plain vanilla ones, cos then I can change up the flavours with different fruits. Like Mango, pineapple, and banana, or strawberry banana, etc. I use fresh fruit but if you have a limited budget you can also use frozen. Good luck! :-)
