Why are products sold cheaper on ebay??
Some people have access to sources cheaper than retail. They can pass the savings on to other people and make a bit of profit themselves. I would say it is safe, because if you discover that someone did try to pull one over on you, you can report it to eBay and/or PayPal and get a full refund. Hope I helped!

With a few exceptions like high end fashion items, certain computer software, and drugs, etc. (anything that only the OEM can legally sell) you are generally able to resell anything you purchase from anyone. In fact, there have been eBay sellers who specialized in buying items (often collectibles) on eBay that were poorly photographed and/or described at a lower price, re-listed them with better descriptions and photos and made a profit.

Ebid is not the same as Ebay. Ebid is an outside competitor. I think sellers would be hard pressed to find some auction site as entrenched as Ebay or Amazon (set price), and in posting auction goods, would also have to carry a secure payment system, as well as find good browsing traffic in order to get paid higher fees for the goods listed. Like other Ebay sellers, I fell out and went to other sites to sell, but things just didn't work out the same way, and most fell flat. The exception was selling on Amazon, where I made more on my sales, but had to wait sometimes several months before selling something. What I liked about amazon was that there were no listing fees until the item sold. Amazon took care of all the payment transactions, postage reimbursements, and after taking their clip off the top, sent the seller the rest of the money as a bi-weekly deposit straight to the seller's bank account. Of course, it pays to have goods that are in demand, and can return enough pay to justify writing the detailed listing, and deal with all the loose ends at time of sale, as well as with buyers who don't read the description, then want a refund because they thought they were getting something different; all cutting into your profit, inventory, and listing fees, as well as hard feelings left for transaction feedback. Also with Ebay, their sales are from many corporate outfits instead of the yard sale crowd of days past, so you end up competing against two wolves, though the first wolf will get you for listing and not selling, as well as a variable fee scale for selling something at increasingly higher prices.
