DTD- Day to Day He may or may not play, and the injury isn't serious. IR - Indicates a serious injury and the player is placed on "Injured Reserve" so they can call up another player to fill the roster spot. Unlike in NFL, this doesn't mean that he'll be out for the rest of the season.

Sniper - Someone who likes to pick there shots and can roll off a quick wrister or snap shot. Ilya Kovalchuck would be an example. Playmaker - A player who is patient with the puck and makes good passes or is always in position to score. Claude Giroux of the Flyers would be a good example. Grinder - Basically a hard working, tough guy player who will stir the pot. Two words Sean Avery Offensive Defenseman - A defenseman with a good offensive mind, he will pinch along the boards alittle more than a normal defenseman and carry the puck into the zone. Mike Green of the Caps is one. Defensive Defenseman - A defensman that is all defensive minded. Doesn't usually takes the offensive risk, and is more conservative. Kimmo Timonen of the Flyers is a good example. Dangler - A player that likes to make all the flashy dekes and is a good stickhandler. Along with being a Sniper and a Playmaker, Ovechkin is a good example of this. Power Foreward - Most of the time it's the guy fighting for position infront of the net.
