This world is a dark place. How do I make it brighter before I die? No religious answers please.?
Atheism is a religion. Realize that very dark means some light. I would suggest the desire to personally change the reality is an ego-gratification exercise. Make your life better. Appreciate those around you and stop trying to repaint the moon.
Do you think the world would be a better place if everyone was the same race?
It seems the majority of the world's problems are based on race. Sometimes, I wonder if the world would be better if everyone was the same race. But if that happened, people would be less diverse and more boring looking. Imagine just all black people everywhere... or all blonde Germans everywhere. Not much diversity there... same thing all the time... Do you think the world would be a better place if everyone was the same race? I think even if people were the same race, people would find other ways to discriminate.
The AR-15. It was invented to be as close to military grade as legally possible while still being able to sell to the public. It's been associated with dozens of mass shootings and has no design purpose outside of killing. The existence of the AR-15 costs thousands of lives and gives a bad image to law abiding gun owners who have guns for sport, Hunting and self-defense.
Necessity is the mother of invention and I work with the students (6th to 8th Class), wherein we try to understand the basic difficulties faced by the people and offer a technological solution. This results in simple inventions but I am sure, these are enjoyable. here is an example. We have been using a height measuring machine is hospitals, here one person will come and ask you to stand on the platform of the machine and as you stand, the person will read your height on the scale.Since the scale is on the back, you yourself can’t read it. Thus our students developed a new scale -it is printed in mirror left-right reversal modes and as you stand on the scale, you look in a mirror, which is facing your eyes. Through the mirror the numerical values written on the scale are seen as if you are reading a correct numeral. Thus, we save manpower wastage in hospitals. These pictures will clear your imagination. The first one shows how a person has to help. Second, a lady stands herself and reads her height through the mirror and third picture shows part of the scale (where one can see words printed in reverse direction).The students are from Silver Line Prestige School, Ghaziabad and is a wonderful school promoting small innovations.
What can you do to make the world a brighter place?
Smile a lot. Sometimes its the only smile they see all day, even at work. I do silly things like say good morning to the bus driver at night, it brings a smile to her face. Maybe you give them a good laugh. Always be nice no matter how others are to you. They might have just had a hard day and your attitude helps them out. If you have a believe in God, and you see someone that might benefit from you your experience with God's love, share it. Non-confrontational: "You know what helps me when I'm down, I pray, would you like me to pray with you?" If no. Ask if it would be ok if you pray for them on your on time. And tell them it was nice talking to them. (Something like that.) Or if you don't believe people still need people to talk to, and it makes all the difference in the world. We just need to be willing, opportunities pop up.

Educate the Uneducated; Help the Helpless and those who need it; Give to the Needy!(No, I don't rob from the riche); Make donations and give money help those who need it more than I. Not take things that I don't need; Not being greedy; Help the homeless and less fortunate; Volunteering..Pretty much anything. Makes me happy to make someone else happy ^_^ or at least a brighter day. Good feelins!

BE TOLERANT! some of these replies say "be a christian" and others say "dont believe in christianity" What the hell does that have to do with making the WORLD a better place? Tolerate doesn't mean you have to believe what other people believe. Just accept it and respect them. Afterall you accepting someone else doesn't effect you in any way, it doesn't change your opinions or beliefs, or religion. it just makes you a better person. Tolerate somebody else's : -religion -beliefs -culture -country -nationality -way of life -skin colour -way they look -values -morals -dress sense -body shape The reason people cannot tolerate is because of their lack of understanding about things, if you lack knowledge how can you judge other people? Ignorance is bringing us down.
Hmm..interesting question.Would the world be a better place if new technology invention had stopped? Yes and No.Why No? Close your eyes for a moment and think…think what today is possible thanks to the blessings of technology.There is no need for an explanation om this topic,i guess. I am just gonna add that: You are here on quora,connecting with same minded people and expanding you knowledge. The fact that you are here asking this question and me giving you my opinion is itself a blessing of technology.Now the interesting one comes. I said yes and no to answer this question.Why yes?Have a look at the state our world is in right now. It’s in a pathetic state. People are becoming inhuman day by day, war is breaking now and then, terrosist attacks killing thousands of people at onece thanks to guns and bombs and how can i not mention the horrific neuclear weapons. In my eyes i see the world is already in deep danger. Some big countries today hold the power to destroy our loving planet any time. If one war breaks out among the neuclear weapon holding countries then we are done for. They are not just gonna destroy each other but the whole world. That’s why sometimes i think technology actually should have stopped in the 20th century.But then again i can’t ignore the blessings technology gave to us…
I don’t know much about very harmful weapons or artilleries or secret weapons but I would like to include a very common invention, To which everyone would relate to .Mobile phones. - Ok ok. Don’t judge me too early but I find mobile phones as the most annoying invention. And above that , smartphones. Ok, cellular phones with normal keypad and little functions were enough but then , devil decided to turn the life of the whole humanity upside down. How ? Smartphones were actually made to save your time?I mean wtf ! I waste most of my day using my mobile phone. Now coming to part of making the world a bad place. Oh no ! How can a mobile phone turn the whole world into bad place right . ?So , here’s the logic.They are the biggest reason why people are least interested in playing outdoor games.Everything at finger tips. Therefore, people make less efforts in relationships like actually meeting the person and having a real convo face to face . Ultimately - Break upsIf you have a smartphone and an internet connection , you can successfully waste your whole day without being productive at all.Insomnia.Addiction of certain cool apps or social networking sites can really screw you up.Now many comments may follow up like you are most probably writing this answer on a smartphone blah blah ! To those, I actually just wanted to say that it has affected a lot to human race. And i believe that it has more negative impacts than the positives. :)
