My "best friend" forgot my birthday?
My 14th birthday was a few days ago, and my supposed best friend forgot it. The day after, she found out from someone else that it was my bday the day before, and started apologizing. We switched schools in 7th grade, since our old school was just elementary, and went to a huge school. My friend who forgot my birthday made dozens of new friends, and I made enough, but I don't like to be crowded with a bunch of people around me all the time. She totally forgot about me and hasn't paid any attention to me since April. She spent all summer with her new friends, and don't get me wrong, it's great that she has all these new friends. But I would like to hang out with her too. I have always texted her first, invited her places, and all that jazz, and so this summer, I quit putting forth all the effort. I decided I would let her come to me, since I always started everything. Guess what? She hasn't done anything special with me, texted me, or anything. She was busy with her other friends. Then to top it all off, she forgets my bday, THEN posts a pic on IG wishing one of her other friends happy birthday (this was even after she remembered mine). I think I was born with "Third Wheel" tattooed on my forehead. I've been left out since day 1. I'm tired of it. I just wanted to know y'all's opinion and to hear what y'all have to say. My best friends forgot my birthday?
Today is my eighteenth birthday and I received greetings from family and from my classmates but not from my four close friends whom I've known for 4-7 years. If it was any other birthday, my sixteenth for example, I would not be as irritated and upset as I am but because it is my eighteenth and the one I've been looking forward to for weeks. If one of them forgot I would not have minded, but it's the fact that they ALL forgot which upsets me the most. What makes it even worse is that, even if they did forget (even though one really has no excuse as her birthday's the day before mine), is that they could very easily have seen that my birthday was today on Facebook which they were all on sharing photos and whatever without acknowledging me at all! Is it selfish of me to be so upset by this? Especially as they've never forgotten any of my other birthdays, nor I theirs, in the time they've known me? Also, how should I react towards them when I see them on Monday at school? My family is telling me to get over it, but I cannot believe how pissed off I feel and I know it will come out on Monday one way or the other. Should I tell them how pissed I am with them and just wait to get over it and forgive them in my own time or should I just forgive them even though I am so angry with them to the point that I won't forgive them? I am highly stubborn and hold grudges with impressive endurance.
What is the best thing you have done on your birthday that made your birthday memorable?
A2A. Well, so far I haven't done anything great on my birthday! It's just the normal things which people do on their birthdays, like, for example, having a birthday party and all such things. But yes, my every birthday is made special and memorable by my parents and my close friends. From arranging the birthday party to entertaining and pampering me to bits, they do it all. I feel like a “Queen” on my birthday!!!But this year, I am planning to do something new! Instead of a birthday party, I am thinking of celebrating my birthday by doing either of these two things:Going to an orphanage and celebrating my birthday with the people out there.Or,Going for a short vacation with my family to a beautiful place. Best friends blew me off on my birthday?
My good friend of many years had been talking for weeks about getting all of my girlfriends together for my birthday. I hate birthdays and the last 5 of them have been pretty bad so I didn't want to make a big deal and don't like a lot of attention-I just wanted to see all of my best girls together having fun in one place. So,she calls me the morning of my bday and says she is heading over to hang out with me all day and even tries to get me to cnxl my dinner plans with a guy I was seeing so she could hang with me non stop till we go out that night with our ladie. So I wait around, excited to get the day going, then she calls me and says she can't hang out today-she's going over to another friends house, I was so confused. I know she has been low on money and that was her excuse, but she should know me better and know that it doesn't matter if she has a gift, card or buys me a drink, all I wanted was to be with my good friends on my b-day. I turned down offers for get aways and road trips with other people so I could spend my day with my best girls...and they all let me down. I feel a little immarture being so upset about this, but I called her and told her my feelings and she cried saying she was so sorry. She offerd to take me out in a few days, but the way she went about flaking on me, telling me she was coming over, then saying oh sorry i'm going to hang out with someone else...I don't really want to hang out with her for a while. What do you think, am I being silly? I'm leaving for the summer in a week or so, should I try to get over it and see her before I leave or just let it heal over the summer? Thanks for listening.

Remove your birth date from Facebook. Meet your closest friend(s) that night. Talk. After coming home, watch a good movie, per se.. It's A Wonderful Life. Movies like these give you a fresh start of perspective. And what's more a better day to watch such films other than New Year and your birthday.Go to work. Have a good meal for dinner.
