What Is Best Way To Move An Outdoor Cat From 1 Location To His New Home

How long should I wait to let my cat outside after moving into a new place?

Don't make it an inside cat, if the cat could choose she would be an inside/outside cat.

When we moved to our new home, in the morning we put our cat outside in her cat carrier for the first two weeks. She would sit watch the bird and get her outside experience.

In the evening, we would take her for walks around the yard to familiarize her with the house and location.

I always reinforce the coming back in with a nice positive treat.

Our cat's curfew is close to dark. Good luck.

How to turn my indoor cat to outdoors cat?

please please reconsider this option...indoor cats don't do well outside unless u hv a catio totally screened in with no ways out...in reality yer 5 yr old kitty wont survive with u doing this...I know u say u love her and if u do then u hv some hard choices to make...there is ways for her to b kept indoors n gramma still being able to live there...there will b some work on yer end but reality is u can do it...personally I could never let a indoor cat outdoors and expect it to b able to survive..and just a heads up u say hr/she has all the shots n is neutered...well female cats r not neutered they r spayed...if by choice u don't wanna keep her inside please consider rehoming her...there r lots of people out there that will tk in a cat if there spayed.neutered n hv there shots...best of luck to u...p.s. I really hope u didn't expecr kind answers on this post as there are a lot of animal lovers out there and this kinda thing is just wrong in the eyes of others...please rethink yer thoughts on this...hagn

Is keeping cats outdoors okay?

I am moving to a home in a few days, but at my current residence I have taken multiple outdoor stray/feral cats in. Not only do these cats face the risk of being poisoned or hit by cats, they also keep breeding outdoors and I would like to take the cats that have became comfortable with me. One stray cat came in and had four kittens. They are three and a half months now and I would like to give them homes, but I am finding it hard to find someone. Overall we have around eight cats ( four kittens and four adults) they, except the kittens who were born inside, were all outdoor cats at one time and the two that I keep in all the time still like to roam outside. My new home has five acres, but no fence. I wanted to build a cat enclosure or put cat houses outside, with food and water of course. I just want to make sure that isn’t cruel in any way. I want them to be able to live the life they want to live, but I don’t want them harmed by leaving them in the area I am in now. I don’t want them to run off either, but I want to give them freedom. I am still trying to find people who would take some in and give them a good home, but until then I want them to be safe with me. Any ideas or thoughts?

My cat ran away a week after we moved... can you help me?

The same thing happened to me twice with my tabby! We moved, and once he ran away but he sniffed his way back to our old place. We got him back, but then he got out again and ran away. Someone saw him a few blocks away but we were too late, he had already gone farther. Not to scare you or anything, but he didn't come back again. :(
