What Is Feminism Am I One

What is feminism?

What Oxford Dictionary says:Feminism:The advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes.Feminism supports equality of both sexes. That is,Right to EducationRight to speakRight to represent ourselves as an IndividualRight to safetyRight to wear clothes of our own wishThe list is not exhaustive.Talking about feminism we talk about these rights. If we discuss education, all girls (I am talking about India) have a right to education (legally 100%). Government have been providing immense support to girls by providing reservation in colleges as well as separate schools and colleges for girls. In the modern era, where we support equality, reservation is not required to such extent. If reservation for backward classes is wrong, so is for girls. If you say society is evil, then let me tell you; society claps for women scholars too. If your family doesn’t let you study, go fight for yourself and stop blaming society.Right to speak: Again we have enormous powers legally. We can definitely stand up for ourselves but the rights are being used irrationally. Where Nirbhaya’s rapist are still not hanged, there are girls reporting fake rape cases and accused suffered much. Things go both way round. Here come’s my point: Right to safety. This is the concern we need to talk about. It is difficult to go outside at night alone. Yes we want to work for an equal working hours as our colleagues but safety is a concern guys!! Yes we support equality but there are some issues for which we need to think rationally. And yes we are not kohinoor ka heera (a sacred gem) who needs to be locked in a vault. We are human beings who have their own goals and our very own aspirations.Whenever I talk about a certain thing which is wrong with society (example being view towards working women in India), I am been told that I am feminazi.Feminist word now a days is being used as a abuse. Guys let’s be together are uplift each other and make a society a better place instead of pulling each other’s leg.

What is your take on feminism?

So for one of my classes, I have to interview a handful of people...It would be greatly appreciated if you guys could take some time to answer the following questions by commenting below:

1.) Do you believe there is equality between females and males today?

2.) What is your definition of a feminist? How did you come to know this definition?

3.) What is one word you would use to describe most feminists?

4.) How has feminism contributed to women's existing rights?

5.) Do you consider yourself a feminist? Why or why not?

Thanks guys! :)

Am I the only one who’s sick of feminists?

I guess you are talking about “pseudo feminists”.Not only you, but the entire population who genuinely understands the true meaning of the term “feminism” are sick of them. Why?They talk absolute crap and they are the perfect examples of sexist people you can ever find. They just want an excuse to bombard at men and call them rapists and what not. They do not care about equality as long as they are benefited. They will be the first one to ask for extra provisions, facilities, comfort etc. They take their womanhood as a shield and accuse men of things like rape, demand for dowry, domestic violence etc. They always have to complain about a man np matter how good he is.Instead of looking at men with the feeling of equality, they look at men as pests. They are not ready to listen to what they are being told. They think they are the most supreme beings. These kind of statements by the literate people puts up many questions against the quality of the society in which we live in.So with all these qualities present in a person, its very difficult or impossible i'd rather say to hold up with them.So no. You're not the only one.Reading my answer for the first time? I'm @Ayush PandaThanks for reading.

Is this why I am so confused about feminism?

I am schizophrenic. One personality thinks she is a 19 year old woman, the other believes itself to be a 32 year old male medical doctor.

The reality is that I am a lonely geek who sits in his bedroom drooling over softcore porn hoping and dream of meeting a real woman who will whisk me away from my mothers basement.

My mother is highly dominating and belitteles my fragile ego with jokes that undermine my sense of self, and I cannot relate to my other people with any empathy or compassion.

I think I may have Aspbergers syndrome.

I also fixate on issue and repeat the same questions to myself compulsively, which is why I repeat them on Yahoo answers, though I don't often read the replies.

Now you know a little more about me, perhaps you can help me answer, is this why I am so confused about feminism?

Am I the only one that hate tumblr feminists?

Okay I'm a girl and sometimes I use tumblr, but the neo-feminists on there piss me off so much. They call themselves feminists when they know nothing about the original feminism, never read any literature on feminism, and can't name any strong feminist leaders. They are so ******* sensitive on rape jokes, yet they joke about killing people, and when you call them out on hypocrisy they're like "OMG it's a joke I'm not gonna kill anyone!" They want equality but they hate white straight guys, and always complain about white guys and how girls are some how better. If a guy says he wants a shaven girl, they're like "OMG SEXIST!" but then they complain that they want attractive guys. They say how women are objectified on the media, wearing skimpy clothing. But when they wear skimpy clothing and a guy calls them a slut, they say they can wear whatever they want, and guys are looking at them sexually when it's not. Like in music videos where the girls are wearing bikinis and dancing and they call it sexist, but then they go out scantily clad and get called a slut and say girls should wear what they want. I could go on and on. Don't get me wrong, I believe in gender equality, but this neo-femenist hypocritical bullshit they're making pisses me off.

Why is feminism bad? Are you a feminist?

absolutely
female

What is feminism? How does society view feminism?

A movement to promote women's interests at the expense of men.

Despite claims by some moderate (and misled) feminists to the contrary, feminism is not a movement for the betterment of men and women. If it was, it would be called humanism.

Feminists are not concerned, for example, about the fact that four times as many men commit suicide as women or that fewer and fewer boys attend college or graduate from high school.

Feminists demand that we treat men and women as exactly equal unless it suits women to differentiate between the sexes.

For example, a typical feminist will see no irony in arguing on one hand that women need ever greater protection from domestic violence, rape and sexual harassment but on the other hand that women are just as good as men at fighting, construction, farming, police work, etc
