Anarcho-communists would probably argue that there is no reason such a state would “wither away” as it would create a social layer who would benefit from it and want to build their own class power on it. Anarcho-communists are against a transitional state.Marx also believed that in the early phase of communism the socially owned system of production would have a substantial social fund to provide social services on an as needed basis but part of the social product would be distributed on the basis of hours worked.
