Is shasa yoga formed from a retrograde Saturn good?
No. Retrogression of any planet changes its behavior. The results of Shasha yoga or Ruchaka yoga are defined in context of their respective planets. When the planet itself has changed, the results most definitely will.Saturn in the kendra in its own house or exaltation will give good results no doubt. However, the results would not be what shasha yoga says.
How does having 2 planets in the same sign but not conjunct each other affect a person? For example, an ascendant and Mars in virgo but with an 18 degree difference between them.
When planets are far away but in same sign, it is still consider conjunction but the result of conjunction will be less produced. The close conjunction will always produce more significant result. For example in N.T. Rama Rao[1] horoscope the Jupiter, Moon and ascendant are in same degree which produces powerful Gajakesari yoga and he become most popular icon in film and political industry. So positive conjunction is close degree and negative conjunction far apart can be considered good.In this example, Mars in 1st house will give heat body, wounds and scares in the body, courageous nature, aggressive behavior.
