The silver in your rings might not be sterling, which is the only kind most people can wear.Check for hallmarks (small indented I.D. marks) on the rings; sterling should have at least one on each ring. You may also be allergic to silver, but if this is only recent, I'd say that there's simply a low silver content in your rings. You might want to try a few layers of clear nail polish on the inside of the rings. Be sure to let each layer dry thoroughly before putting on the next layer. It will keep your skin from coming in contact with the silver and causing corrosion, which is the black/green stuff you're seeing. You might also consider putting them on a chain and wearing that around your neck if the rings are special to you.

Nothing beyond that you will have a green finger, and the ring may pit slightly. You don't have to use clear nailpolish; if you have any color of nail polish that won't be too visible, you can put a layer on the inside of the ring. A layer of glue or rubber cement will also work, but will wear off faster :)

try wearing a ring with out copper in it, if you really want to wear that ring, put a coat of clear nail polish on the inside of the ring and let it dry, this isn't bad for you, it's just what happens to copper, like the statue of liberty is copper, that's why it turned green

So i was wearing this ring for about 5-6 days and i take it off and my finger where the ring was a greenish color. What do i do, does it go away by its self?
