Why do I have pain in my leg but no redness after an ant bite?

Can you be more specific? Where does the pain originate? Is it at the same site of the bite or spread over your leg? Do you know of any allergies you might have? What kind of ant bit you? Other than redness, is there any swelling? What’s the timeline between getting bitten and developing pain?Commonly, very commonly, after an insect bite you’ll have these four ‘latin’ cardinal signs of inflammation: calor (heat), dolor (pain), rubor (redness) and tumor (swelling). I don’t think you can have one without at least a little bit of the other, which makes me suspect, if you don’t have all four cardinal signs, that what you’re feeling is either very far removed from the time you were bitten or has no relation at all to the ant bite.If it persists, please see a certified physician.

Swelling in lower leg and foot?

What you're experiencing is edema — that's when excess fluid collects in your tissue. It's normal to have a certain amount of swelling during pregnancy because you're retaining more water. Changes in your blood chemistry also cause some fluid to shift into your tissue. In addition, your growing uterus puts pressure on your pelvic veins and your vena cava (the large vein on the right side of the body that carries blood from your lower limbs back to the heart). The pressure slows the return of blood from your legs, causing it to pool, which forces fluid from your veins into the tissues of your feet and ankles. Edema is most often an issue during the third trimester, particularly at the end of the day. It may be worse during the summer. You can help relieve the increased pressure on your veins by lying on your side. Since the vena cava is on the right side of your body, left-sided rest works best. After you have your baby, the swelling will disappear fairly rapidly as your body eliminates the excess fluid. You may find yourself urinating frequently and sweating a lot in the first days after childbirth. Call your midwife or doctor if you notice swelling in your face or puffiness around your eyes, more than slight swelling of your hands, or excessive or sudden swelling of your feet or ankles. This could be a sign of preeclampsia, a serious condition. Also call your caregiver if you notice that one leg is significantly more swollen than the other, especially if you have any pain or tenderness in your calf or thigh

What causes swollen ankles and redness around the lower legs?

Swelling can be due to injury (old or new) but can also be something much more sinister. Right sided heart faiure is a common cause of swelling in the legs and feet. The reason is that the right side of the heart accepts blood that has just pumped around the body. So if the right side is not moving blood across to the lungs to get oxygen back in the blood before it moves the blood to the left side of the heart so it can then pump around the body again. Bascially blood pools in the legs, feet and sometimes arms. Bloating can sometimes be seen. You will need to see a dr about this if it is a chronic problem. The dr might recommend restricting fluid, give you some medication to help get rid of fluid, encourage more exercise or movement and encourage a reduction in salt intake. But you really should see a dr

Swelling in leg , Help!!!?

could it be Gout? My husband gets it now and then and he says it hurts like crazy and there is swelling and some redness, but no bruising or other physical signs. However, the only parts that swell are the joints affected by it, not usually his whole leg - though, he hasn't let it go as long as your uncle.
Good Luck and I hope you can figure it out!!

P.S. if it is Gout: in the future a bit of black cherry concentrate in some water _every day _ (just enough to barely turn a bottle of water pink) helps prevent the build up of what causes Gout.

Should my leg be swelling after a tattoo?

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before.

So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore.

Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain.

A couple of days after that, the swelling and bruising were subsid-ing significantly and on the fourth day, I was walking comfortably again. Although I've had felt a bit of stiffness, I continued doing what was instructed. My sister was surprised that I have recovered this fast. I told her about this book and was shocked on how effective the procedures were. I'm just so happy that this book was shared to me and how effective it is.

Unexplained bruising, swelling, itching in right leg.?

Please be checked out thoroughly. I know from experience. I tore my right Achilles tendon by doing nothing special. It slowly got worse until I couldn't stand the pain any longer and got a MRI that showed the tear. After I had this surgically repaired in March and almost fully recovered I started having discomfort in my left heal in September. We set up surgery for early October but had to cancel, due to developing lymphodema in left leg. Sent for PT for the edema before we rescheduled the surgery. On the way into the hospital for PT would you believe I totally ruptured that left Achilles tendon. Then it made the surgery a little more difficult. I never knew what caused the tears in the first place but I heard that it could have been a side effect of some of the medications I can on. I was also told it is not unusual not to know the defining injury that caused the tear.

So that is my story and I hope that you don't have to go through everything I did, but I do strongly recommend that you go to an urgent care or ER or family doctor and find out what has happened. This pain & swelling & bruising & redness & itching is nothing to NOT investigate. Could even be a blood clot but I really lean more to a tear. Please check it out. ASAP
