How important the CPU is for gaming, would depend largely on the type of game being played. Firstly, a CPU is a requirement if you want to do any PC gaming. There are games that are mostly visual and do not require a lot of processing power. Think, for example, of a modern, pretty (graphics wise), online multiplayer FPS (First Person Shooter) game. Assuming that you're playing online, all the 'characters' within the game are being controlled by real people. Therefore, in this instance, the CPU doesn't have to do much, and the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) is going to be used far more to maintain the pretty visuals. If on the other hand, you're playing a game that requires more processing, then the CPU's role becomes more important. So, for example, if you are playing an RTS (real-time-strategy) game against the computer, the CPU will be used much more, as the computer is having to make regular and intensive calculations to decide what to do with it's units in order to attempt to beat you. Often the graphics in these games will not be quite as polished as in the less-cpu-intense ones. This can be taken to the extreme with a game like Football Manager, which is about 95% CPU processing with very little for the GPU to do. With a game like this, you could have a powerful CPU pared with a really basic GPU and you'd be good to go. It's worth noting however, that in most cases, the GPU is far more important to the gaming experience than the CPU. Most games require much more power for processing visuals than processing things like AI behaviours.

Well, definitely a graphic card.Your graphic card is the one that does the rendering work, RAM is just there to keep the data available for the CPU and GPU to access. Nowadays usually you get 6-8 gigs of RAM installed in a decent laptop. Even a 4Gb RAM is sufficient if you’re not into 2k or 4k gaming. But if you buy a Graphic card that itself has a memory of 4Gb, then of course you will need atleast 6Gb of RAM for it. But even if you increase this limit to, say 16Gb, you won’t notice much of a difference in gaming. Your frame rate would hardly increase by 2–5 fps.Now CPU on the other hand is equally important with the graphic card. You might install a GTX 1060 6Gb graphic card, have 8Gb of RAM and installed an i3 processor, still you wont be able to get the best out of your system. The GPU is way too powerful that your CPU. In this config, your CPU would be running at 100% with somewhat 60% of RAM usage and about 40–50% of GPU usage.So you need to see that this doesn’t happen. A system can take care of itself if the RAM is less, but it just cannot handle a slow processor. As it will take the whole system down with itself.

How important is the PSU (power supply) when building a PC?

Let me take you into my best analogy (well not the best known yet).PSU is one of the most important thing to consider in building a PC.Imagine that power supply is like our heart. It pumps blood into different section or parts in our body. If this "heart" is weak, what can we expect to our body? you'll also feel weak, tired and down. And the other parts of your body is the CPU, RAM, Vcard, SSD/HDD and so on.What if in the most extreme workforce of your body when your "heart" stop for a while you'll feel sudden jolt or maybe you'll collapse.It's like in our PC or most probably your next gaming PC. Remember that every parts whether cpu, ram, vcard requires watts, power and ampere.It's not necessarily that you need to buy expensive one but you also have to consider:1.) Watts of your powersupply, (you should have check the calculator of for the watts needed by your computer parts available online).2.) Efficiency grade (80 plus Bronze, Silver or Gold). 3.) and the reputation of the brand of the powersupply. eg. Seasonic, Corsair, CM. (look for some forums you'll learn alot based from their experiences)That's why I suggest PSU (power supply) is important in building a PC.
