What type of internet connection is best? PPPoE, Static IP, DHCP, PPTP, L2TP, or Telstra Cable?
Don't monkey around with settings in your router if you don't know what you're doing. Use what is required by your ISP and stop worrying as none of those are necessarily "better" than the others.
What is the best high speed internet service, besides Verison DSL and Comcast?
For the past few months I've used Comcast High Speed Cable(Comcast is my local company here in NJ) and have loved it. However, the promotion I was in just ended and I'm now paying $42.95/month for it. If you use it as a non-cable subrscriber, it jumps up to $57. I can't afford that at the moment, so what other options are available with high speed internet? I recently researched Verizon DSL, but it's not available yet here. So I'm kinda stuck. I don't want to use dial up at all. I heard AOL recently came out with broadband service, maybe they'd be good? thanks for any and all help.
