What Is My Projected Status As A Citizen And What Steps Should I Take

How long does it take to become a British citizen?

Round about 6 1/2 years.Naturalisation as a British citizen is the last step in a series of steps that begins with obtaining a visa that leads to settlement. Only people with settled status can apply for naturalisation. There are currently 2 primary settlement statuses. Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) for non-EU/EEA citizens and permanent residency for EU/EEA citizens. In both cases, it normally takes 5 years to attain settled status: 5 years on a visa that leads to settlement (Tier 2 General, Tier 1 visas, family visas) for non-EU/EEA, and 5 years exercising treaty rights for EU/EEA. There is also a 10-year path for people who are legally resident in the country in a combination of visas (settlement-leading or not). A person can apply for ILR no more than 28 days before than the 5-year period is reached. After settlement status has been obtained, the person must hold this for 12 months before being eligible to apply for naturalisation. This 12-month period is waived if the person is married to a British citizen. The application process will take some time, generally 3 to 6 months. Then after the applicant receives notice in the post, he can arrange with his council to attend a naturalisation ceremony. Depending on the council’s ceremony schedule, this might be a month. The realistic time for someone not married to a British citizen then is between 6 years 3 months and 6 years 7 months. Deduct a year if married to a British citizen. In all phases, there are other eligibility criteria that must be met.An interesting requirement for the naturalisation application is that 5 years prior to the date the Home Office receives the application, the applicant must have been present in the country. This means that if the applicant were out of the country, on holiday for example, 5 years before, he would need to delay his application until such time as the 5-year in-country rule is met.

1. What steps have been taken to protect red pandas?

The Red Panda is classified as vulnerable in the IUCN Red List (2009.01), and is included in CITES Appendix I. Reliable population numbers are hard to find, partly because other animals have been mistaken for the Red Panda. For instance, one report from Myanmar stated that Red Pandas were still fairly common in some areas, and was accompanied by a photograph of a “Red Panda” as proof. The photograph in question depicted a species of civet.

The population was estimated at less than 2,500 individuals in 1999, and between 16,000 and 20,000 in 2001. The IUCN Red List (2009.01) estimates the total population in China to be between 6,000 and 7,000 and the population in India to be between 5000 and 6000 in the wild, with wild populations still declining. However, these numbers are from surveys done in 2001 and earlier. Estimates for Nepal indicate only a few hundred individuals. There are no records from Bhutan or Myanmar.

The Red Panda is protected in all countries where it lives, and hunting it is illegal. Beyond this, conservation efforts are highly variable between countries:

Nepal has one of the highest rates of deforestation in Asia. This country has several protected areas (Langtang National Park, the Dhorpan Game Reserve, Sagarmatha National Park, Makulu National Park, Annapurna Conservation Area, and the Rara National Park). However, some of these areas suffer from human pressure.
Bhutan is probably one of the most unspoilt countries in Asia. It still retains large areas of forest. As of 2009, there are nine protected areas (Jigme Dorji National Park, Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park, Royal Manas National Park, Thrumshingla National Park, Bomdeling Wildlife Sanctuary and Sakteng Wildlife Sanctuary), but no records of Red Pandas are kept.
India (Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and West Bengal) has three protected areas with Red Pandas (Khangchendzonga National Park, Namdapha National Park and Singalila National Park), and a coordinated conservation policy for the Red Panda.
Myanmar has a high rate of deforestation and no protected areas.
China has several protected areas with Red Pandas (Wolong National Park, the Tangjiahe Reserve, and the Medogo Wanglang Reserve and National Park).

How fast can one get Canadian citizenship after immigrating and becoming a permanent resident?

In these matters I recommend to only consider official information, which is posted on Citizenship and Immigration Canada site [http://www.cic.gc.ca/].Citizenship eligibilityAs it was said here, you must have lived in Canada for at least three years (1,095 days) out of the four years (1,460 days) before you can apply. They provide an online Residence Calculator to determine if you have accumulated enough days in Canada.Good news is that time you lived in Canada before becoming PR also counts, discounted by half, i.e. each day you lived in Canada in legal status other than PR counts as half a day.Application ProcessingApplication Processing times tracked by CIC are posted on their website: Processing Times: Grant of Citizenship.Today it takes about 25 months from receipt of the application to final decision. Last time I checked, in 2012, it was 19 months.Obtaining Citizenship Certificate and PassportIf you were granted citizenship, before you can get Canadian passport you need to obtain Proof of Citizenship, request for which currently takes 6 months to fulfil. Processing times: Processing Times: Citizenship Certificate (Proof of Citizenship)Totals:Best case scenario, it will take you 3 years to become eligible to apply for citizenship + 25 months for your application to get processed + 6 month for the final paperwork = 5 years 7 months before you get the blue passport, given you have never leaved the country for the first 3 years, your background is clean, your documents are in order, you timely submitted all the applications and CIC processing times never soared.

After marrying a US citizen, how long does it take to get a green card?

Ndifreke Udo to avoid duplicates, I totally agree with Brady Stoddard’s answer as mine would not differ from his.Hope this helps.

Need help with this Estimation statistics problem. Please can you explain step by step. Book is terrible.?

The police department in your city was asked by the mayor’s office to estimate the cost of crime. The police began their study with burglary records, taking a random sample of 500 files since there were too many crime records to calculate statistics for all of the crimes committed. If the average dollar loss in a burglary, for this sample size 500 is $678, with a standard deviation of $560, construct the 95% confidence interval for the true average dollar loss in burglaries rounded to the nearest dollar amount. We can be 95% confident that the lower limit of our interval of dollar loss in crimes committed is $_______.

Explain how you can use estimation to place the decimal point in the quotient 42.56 divided by 22?

1st comment....you only have 2 significant digits...so 43 / 22

2nd : this is close to 44 / 22 = 2....either 1.9 or 2.0 for an answer

if it had been 42.56 / 22.00 then 1.9ab...4 digits

How long did the Background Verification for GEP step in India take (during your Global Entry application process)?

Started on 1-Feb-2018 (63 days ago) and its still not done yet.Seems like there is lot of confusion and lack of understanding within Government departments. I appeared for PCC in Passport office on 1st Feb 2018 and police verification was done by end of Feb. I was told by policeman that everything looks good to him and he/they’ll pass on their report to next step. He didnt know what is the next step(s) and who it’ll go to next. Its been more than 2 months now and the status has stayed “GEP Verification Process has been initiated on your application. Once inputs from all the concerned Government Authorities are received, the Report will be shared with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). No queries would be entertained in relation to your GEP application status at the Passport Offices and PSP Call Centre. You may contact CBP for further updates on the processing of your GEP application”.I wish there was a better/transparent way to find out what is going on. also would love to hear from someone who has actually got it done successfullyEdit: Based on experiences/feedback in flyertalk.com.
