Which are the best surgeons in india for cleft lip and cleft palate repair?

I really cannot comment on who is the best surgeon in India for cleft lip and palate repair. There must be lot of good surgeons in India. However  from my personal experience I would say Dr.Adenwalla and Dr.P.V.Narayanan and their team of doctors of Charles Pinto Centre for cleft lip and palate, Jubilee Mission Hospital, Thrissur are wonderful surgeons who have specialised and perform only cleft repair surgeries. Dr.Adenwalla is referred to as father of cleft surgery in India. They are a wonderful team of surgeons nurtured by Dr.Adenwalla. Charles Pinto Centre for cleft lip and palate is the first hospital partner for Smile Train, a charitable organisation which funds cleft repair surgeries, in India. As far timIng of surgeries, I present below generally recommended guidelines. Cleft lip closure - 3rd month Cleft palate closure - 12 to 18 months Alveolar bone grafting (if the baby has cleft palate) - 7 to 7.5 yearsOrthodontic procedures, if required, from11 years onwards .For a related question you can view my answer here. Which is better, Hyderabad or Bangalore?

I have spent four years in Bangalore and visited Hyderabad several times.I will try to put forward my observations but the final choice is always yours. Some of the factors I considered are,Food:If you are a non-vegetarian,you will definitely love it in Hyderabad because of so many options( we all know hyderabadi biriyani). But if you are a vegetarian, I think both the cities offer unique dishes,so are equal in this regard.Water availablity:An average person requires 130 -150 litres of water everyday in India. In Hyderabad, water is supplied from Krishna and Godavari rivers. In Bangalore, water is supplied from Arkavati and South pennar rivers. In recent news,it is shown that Bangalore is already facing drinking water issues and Hyderabad will not be facing any drinking water issues for the next 25 years.Air quality:The pollution levels of both the Cities are nothing to be boasting about.According to the WHO data, Bangalore is more polluted city than Hyderabad.Climate:I think everyone agrees that Bangalore has a better climate compared to Hyderabad. In Bangalore ,the temperatures vary between 16 to 35°C with the average being 25°C.In Hyderabad, the temperatures vary between 16 to 40°C with the average temperature being 30°C.Languages:Kannada and English are the two languages widely spoken in Bangalore.Telugu,Hyderabadi hindi and English are the languages spoken in Hyderabad. So for an outsider who knows Hindi,Hyderabad is more accommodating.Cost of living:It is an important factor to consider especially if you are a student or an employee with a moderate salary.Hyderabad is the best city to live in terms of cost of living. But if you are rich, both cities offer the best in terms of standard of living.Travelling :In Bangalore ,there are many options to choose as most of the hill stations are within 300 km radius of the city.In Hyderabad, you don't have as many options to go outside on weekends.Heritage and architecture:Hyderabad is an old City which has a very rich heritage. The City houses many famous historical sites. It houses many Indo-islamic architectural monuments.Bangalore is comparatively a modern city. Both the Cities are housing the IT parks with big MNCs .I conclude by saying,Bangalore is the silicon valley of India. And Hyderabad is the Pearl City of India.Hope this helps.

Which are the top 20 medical colleges of karnataka?

Comparing only few colleges..Of course you know about the big ones…here is info about few of the ones ..Ambedkar _ beautiful campus. Narrow roads. College bus facility. Butcher shops area. Timings 9 to 4. Apparently they take no extra fees. But not sure.BGS is not having college bus. Slighlty high fees. Good established famous hospital. From banashankri metro station take bus to BGS. Little remote. But has BMTC bus stop near it. Takes 80k apparently.Sapthagiri - lot of patients . Bad hospital construction. No emergency exits. Claustrophobic college building.. single entry and exit.. dead ends at every path. Good connectivity metro then bus. Timings 9 to 4East point is 3 km remote inside highway. In every college the seniors rag you, but in East Point, apparently.. the College it self rags students.Oxford is near hosur. Seems close to highway. Based on distance u can try this College also. This college wont answer its landline and demands exorbitant fees.Akash is in remote road .. 1km from main road. Hence it has less patients. College is in set. College bus goes only to certain point of city. Connected by good road but has toll. Timings 9to 4. These ppl refuse to declare extra fees on phone unlike other colleges. How should students get info from distant places.. very bad.. cant understand that kind of behavior. Very rude college.Adichunchangiri - this is in bellur ..( dont go to mandya).. you need to take hassan or mangalore bus . This College is charging about 60k extra. The location is on highway and only 3 hrs to 4 hrs from Bangalore. But the surrounding has nothing much to offer. No malls etc. You have no where to go.If you are joining Muslim College note that Friday is half day and Saturday is full day.. So they don't enable you to go home on weekends.

What is your review of SRM University?

I’ll go anonymous for personal reasons. This is a completely honest from the heart kind of an opinion and I’ll keep it as short as possible. This is about SRM Kattankulathur(and is probably the only SRM even worth writing a review about). As an engineering college, the number of opportunities you get to prove yourself is extremely high. Don’t expect much from the faculty members but you can get amazing funding for all your ideas and you can even start your own clubs and can make a name for yourself. The campus is amazing and there are floor canteens,ACs in each class room etc. The size of the campus is mammoth. You can even make it to MITs if you are dedicated enough and can devote yourself without diversions. But, what ruins it all is SRM itself. They are GREEDY AS FUCK! They cannot limit their intake. They have to have 30,000 good for nothings in the campus. They have to SELL THEIR SEATS. The seats sold is close to 70%. That ruins EVERYTHING.And the result? Mediocrity or even worse. What’s the point in teaching Machine Learning to folks whose only aim in life is to get laid or get a girlfriend? Yes, that’s 80%% of the crowd you meet here. And as you can guess, those folks have made it here by buying seats using their Baap ka paisa. Their new semester’s resolution is not to improve their GPA by studying hard but by improving their malpractice skills. The Telugu crowd is probably the worst(though there are genuine exceptions). The North Indians are the better lot(though again there are exceptions). You don’t need to have be a nerd, but at least maintain some standards close to the alumni produced by other universities.SRM University is the most depressing university one can be in if one’s got any sort of ambitions in engineering. If you haven’t made it to IITs/NITs/BITs stay clear out of such universities. It’s better to join some third grade university and stay in your home town. It’s unimaginably hard working on yourself if you cannot find a single soul who is half as like minded as you are.If you are like the other good for nothings as mentioned above, this place is your heaven. Go ahead! Buy your seat right now. You are a very crucial asset for the university to maintain its TIMES NO. 1 RANKING. Hurry up! The prices tend to increase after a while. Conclusion: SRM University can be a way better university and can even match the standards produced by IITs if it stops being such a prostitute.Adios.

Dravidian Languages: How did the 'Zha' (ழ or ഴ) sound become unique to Tamil and Malayalam?

EDIT: ANSWER CHANGED.Growing up most of my Tamizh friends in Bangalore would pronounce  'zha' using the Retroflex lateral approximant (ɭ ) -IPA 156 - or ಳ in Kannada instead of the trickier ɻ -IPA number 152. I now see that this was on account of either non-initiations into subtleties or as a compromise. While Old-Kannada did have the 'zha' / ೞೆ, students learning the language will never encounter it unless they are pursuing a BA or an MA in Kannada. The only time we were even exposed to this was when we learnt of Vikramarjuna Vijaya, also known as Pampa Bharata (10th century AD) ,authored by Mahakavi Pampa, where in,ಏೞುಂ ಮಾಳಮುಮಂ ಪಾೞೆ ತಗುಳಿಱದು ನರಗನುರಿಪಿದೊಡೆ ಕರಿಂ|ಕೇೞಸಿದಾತನ ತೇಜದಬೀೞಲನನುಕರಿಪುವಾದುವೊಗೆದುರಿವುರಿಗಳ್|| ೩೫But colloquially, it is in use amongst the speakers from Kasargod in Kerala, the South Canara and Coorg districts of Karnataka. My guess is that this might well be the local Malayalam-influence.With reference to the tree diagram above, the evolution of Proto-Kannada to modern Kannada can be charted out into 5 temporal phases.(a) Puurvada halagannada up to 600 A.D.(b) Halagannada 600 A.D. to 1000 A.D.(c) Nadugannada 1000 A.D. to 1500 A.D. (d) Hosagannada 1500 A.D. to 1900 A.D. (e) Aadhunikakannada 1900 A.DYou will find that the usage of 'zha' in Kannada gradually decreases  in the Nadugannada phase and is almost done away with by the time Hosagannada emerges and becomes practically extinct in Aadhunikakannada. Note that this is not as much as a sudden disappearance and is rather a smooth lowering of frequency of usage over centuries. One can observe that consonants with pronunciation subtleties are oft rendered vestigial as languages evolve in to a much more compact forms over centuries on account of general democratization of  the language away from the hands of the grammatical elite and there was nothing special or dramatic about this retroflex approximant either. Thanks to Raziman T.V. for pointing out the error in the previous answer.
