What Is Prince Harrys Real Name

What is Prince Harry's last name?

Officially the whole royal family is know as the Windsor's (just like Elizabeth I's last name was Tudor, ie House of Tudor/ House of Windsor, etc)

However each of the Queen's children (Charles, Andrew and Edward, Anne I'll deal with later)) are all called Duke/Earl of...............

That last bit of his title is then used as the surname. An example would be Prince Charles, Prince of Wales. His children (William and Harry) both have the surname "Wales" However since his marriage to Kate Middleton, they are both known now as HRH Duke/Duchess of Cambridge, as a result their children will be know as ...........Cambridge.

Very complicated I know. So if someone is given a title his/her descendant have the surname of that title unless they themselves are given a title in which case the process is repeated.

For Princess Anne, she decided not to give her children a HRH title therefore they follow the usual procedure for surnames, (ie they have the surname of their father)

Hope that answers your question!

What is Prince Harry's last name?

Ivan, I beg to differ in your understanding of the Royal Family’s name. It’s true that they came from a polyglot of family dynasties from Germany as you list them; and those names defined the regions or territories over which those ancient princes, dukes, etc. had domain. Those names are place names, not family names. So too is Windsor a place name…but it was adopted by His Majesty (HM) King George V at the beginning of World War I with Germany, by a Royal decree, as a way of severing those German family connections. Yes, the German/Saxony blood still flowed, but it was a conscious effort on the part of HM to excise that connection…permanently. You say that Prince Charles, on his becoming King, would have the power to regain those former German names…but he could not do so without the approval of Parliament and I’m willing to bet it would result in his losing that fight and perhaps having to abdicate if he insisted on having his way (he has no “rights” as you state…a former King took care of that!) No UK Monarch since George V has sought to return to those Germanic ties. The question posed here is “what is Prince Harry’s full name”.According to the Royal Family’s official website, his names are Henry Charles Albert David (note, no mention of any place name). “Harry” is a “familiar” contraction, or alternative, to Henry and has been “approved” for his use by the Royal Family. His title of Prince is not a name.Being the son of Prince Charles, Harry would normally assume Charles’ last name of Windsor…but as so many others have commented elsewhere, the Royals don’t use a last name. Their post will be delivered if only their first names (and titles, preferably) are used.Harry’s name is often followed by a place designation “of” Wales…note the word “of”. Again, we see a place designation because his father is the Prince of Wales. That’s the closest thing Harry has, to what we mere mortals call a family name. The army used that place designation for convenience, dropping the “of” part of such designation..BTW…is there any special reason why you chose to capitalise (or even use) the non-word “IRREGARDLESS”? What was it meant to achieve?

What is Prince Harry's last name?

1. The second (family) name of members of the Royal House and Family, including Prince Harry, is Windsor.

2. Before 1917, members of the British Royal Family had no surname, but only the name of the house or dynasty to which they belonged. That changed in 1917, when George V specifically adopted Windsor, not only as the name of the 'House' or dynasty, but also as the surname of his family.

The Royal Family name of Windsor was confirmed by The Queen after her accession in 1952. However, in 1960, it was declared in the Privy Council that The Queen's descendants, other than those with the style of Royal Highness and the title of Prince/Princess would carry the name of Mountbatten-Windsor (Mountbatten being Prince Philip's surname which he assumed in 1947).
The effect of the declaration was that all The Queen's children, on occasions when they needed a surname, used Mountbatten-Windsor. For example, Princess Anne used the "Mountbatten-Windsor" surname for her marriage to Mark Philips.

3. Both Prince William and Prince Harry have used "Wales" as a substitute for surname whenever one was needed, reflecting the fact their father is the Prince of Wales.
Now that William is also the Duke of Cambridge, it is extremely likely that he will use "Cambridge" as a surname when one is needed.

Prince Harry doesn't have a title yet, so he'll still use "Wales" as a surname.
Legally, however, his surname is the same as the name of the Royal House - Windsor.

What is Prince Harry's full name?

For legal purposes, Prince Harry’s formal, full name is “His Royal Highness, Henry Charles Albert David, the Duke of Sussex.”His titles are Duke of Sussex, Earl of Dumbarton, and Baron Kilkeel. His formal occupation would be “Prince of the United Kingdom.”HRH Prince Harry, the Duke of SussexWhile serving in the British military, both he and William used “Wales” as a surname because their father is the Prince of Wales. They could also have used Mountbatten-Windsor if they’d chosen to, but I suppose it’s too long to put on the breast of a uniform.Prince Harry’s Royal MonogramIf he was still serving today, he’d probably use “Sussex” as a last name.As a grandson of the monarch through the male line, Harry’s a royal prince and carries the style of “His Royal Highness,” but neither designation is a part of his legal name.Prince Harry’s coat of armsWhen his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, dies, his father will become His Majesty King Charles III, and Harry’s title will undergo a slight change. He will henceforth be known as, “His Royal Highness, the Prince Henry, Duke of Sussex.” Only a child of the monarch is entitled to have the word “the” in front of their name.

Why did Prince Harry change his name from Henry?

I think 'Prince Harry' fits his youth and personality more so than would 'Prince Henry.'

What is Prince Harry & Prince Williams last name?

The official surname that the descendants of Elizabeth II is "Mountbatten-Windsor." The Queen's real surname was "Wettin", a branch of the Saxe-Coburg and Gotha line of the House of Wettin. However, high anti-German feeling among the people during World War I prompted the Royal Family to abandon all titles held under the German crown and to change German-sounding titles and house names for English-sounding versions. Therefore, The Queen's surname became "Windsor", and The House of Windsor is the current Royal House of the United Kingdom and each of the other Commonwealth realms.

Mountbatten is the surname of Prince Philip, which is also an English version of the German name Battenberg. Therefore, in honour of him, his children may choose to use the surname "Mountbatten-Windsor", and Prince Charles may want to establish the first "House of Mountbatten-Windsor" as the official ruling house when he is King. However, the younger generation like Prince William and Princess Beatrice prefer to use their territorial title in place of their surname. For example, Prince William was registered as William Wales in college, and Princess Beatrice was registered as Beatrice York in college.

The following people have made use of, in current practice, or have made use of, the surname Mountbatten-Windsor. They are listed in the order of succession to the Crown.

- Prince Charles, Prince of Wales and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall
- Prince William of Wales
- Prince Henry of Wales
- Prince Andrew, Duke of York
- Princess Beatrice of York
- Princess Eugenie of York
- Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex and his wife, Sophie, Countess of Wessex
- Lady Louise Windsor (simply styled with the name Windsor)
- James Windsor, Viscount Severn (styled Viscount Severn)
- Princess Anne, Princess Royal (until her marriage with Mark Phillips in 1973 (divorced 1992) when she assumed his surname; her surname has subsequently changed again on the occasion of her marriage with Timothy Laurence in 1992)

Does prince Harry have a passport? What is his name on it?

With the exception of Her Majesty the Queen, all members of the British Royal Family hold a passport and travel using diplomatic status whether they are travelling on official or on private business. So yes Prince Harry will have a passport and presumably the bearers name would read “His Royal Highness Prince Henry Charles Albert David of Wales”.In respect to the Sovereign, the Queen travels using Sovereign immunity and is the only person or Head of State who travels the world without needing a passport. The reason being the cover of a British passport features the Royal Arms, and the first page contains another representation of the Arms, together with the following wording:'Her Britannic Majesty's Secretary of State requests and requires in the name of Her Majesty all those whom it may concern to allow the bearer to pass freely without let or hindrance and to afford the bearer such assistance and protection as may be necessary.'Since all passports are issued in her name it is unnecessary and superfluous for the Queen to have one.

What is the last name of Prince William and Prince Harry?

Saxe-Coburg Gotha Spencer Windsor dear girl!
It explains why they are quite reticent about giving autographs.

What is the full name of Prince Charles?

Charles Arthur Philip George. Lady Diana famously mixed up his name during their wedding and said "Charles Philip Arthur George" which lead Charles to jokingly remark that she married his grandfather. His official titles include Duke of Cornwall, Earl of Chester, and Duke of Rothesay, but his highest title is Prince of Wales. He does not have a last name, in keeping with the Royal tradition.
