If being self-centred is not about being so self-centred that you manipulate and harm others, then it's not bad.If being self centred is not about being so self-centred that you take revenge from those who go against or criticized you, then it's not bad.Also, being self centred can be altruistic. Self centred people are preoccupied with their own affairs. They are more concerned with their own problems. If they solve those problems and share their experiences and solutions with those who need it, then they can become altruistic despite being self-centered. Being self centred is about being preoccupied with oneself and one's affairs.If self centredness reaches to such extremities that in front of self, other's feeling or life seems nothing, then it is considered as egoism.If it goes to such extremities that person remains preoccupied with solving problem related to his own life, then a great solution can be derived. Sharing such solutions with others is altruistic. In this case being self centred is good.So, it depends upon which pole person is trying to reach.

Why are Pisces so damn self-centered?
First of all Pisces is the most caring, unselfish sign in the zodiac. I think the reason you believe they are self centered is because when us Pisces actually want something for ourselves occassionally we go for it no matter what....(but this is rare because we ALWAYS put others first). So you may be miscontstruing that to be self-centered when in all actuality it is merely a need we wish to be filled. See Pisces is a very emotional sign...when we are hurting we need someone to hear us...it is what makes us feel better. We are very hard to understand, and yes at times frustrating. But you cannot take those times we DO want something for ourselves and use them as an example for all the time.....

A person who is selfish, wants things and doesn't want to share them, but in time could probably be coaxed into "sharing" whatever it may be. Self-centered people have one agenda, THEMSELVES! Their whole world revolves around them, they think they are smarter, more deserving and much more worthy of everything that they want, and most will get it at any cost because they DESERVE IT in their eyes!
