What Is Short Gaddaffi

What is your view about Muammar Gaddafi?

I view him as just another Middle Eastern dictator and don't think the Libyan people will even be better off now that he has gone.
He was probably a bad guy to some and a good friend to others. Somehow he got on the wrong side of the "movers & shakers" of the western world and they decided that they wanted more control of the Libyan natural resources..

What's the shortest reason behind Muammar Gaddafi's arrest and death?

It's not a short story. If you try and make it that it will be inaccurate. His stay in power was quite long. He was kinda a socialist, didn't care what the west thought and pissed off the IMF with the Libyan gold reserve. He did fall In the Arab spring . Also Saudi Arabia hated him. Saudi Arabia as a US ally (oil producer) made him a target. Like most North African countries, Libya has a different identity compared to their counterparts in Asia.

What did gaddafi do wrong?

Libya is a tribal society and Gadaffi was an autocrat. To keep order amongst 140, or so, tribes vying for power requires a "carrot/ stick" approach and to stamp out dissent. He deposed King Idris in a bloodless coup who was a leader of the Islamic Senussi dynasty. When the "Arab Spring" (what ever that is) reached Libya; the Sennussi started protesting in Benghazi and the Gadaffi regime reacted with violence.
Then America got involved. They were "mad" because Gadaffi (like Sadam Hussein, previously)wanted to trade oil for gold (the gold dinar). A vote was passed in the UN security council and a mandate for an "intervention" was passed. A lot of propaganda started being broadcast from media outlets like:SKY, AFP and Reuters, vilifying the regime. The fact that America and the UK being friends was forgotten and a protest that would have been quashed; then became a long bloody NATO backed regime change.
To cut a long story short, it was the proposal to remove the American dollar as the oil trading currency that provoked America into demonising the man; that would have removed a lot of their control of that market, which could not be allowed. Up until then they were content to do business with him, even using his prisons as part of the rendition (torture) network that they operate.
Hang on, someone at the door......

Why did Gaddafi support Iran in the Iraq-Iran War?

Gaddafi wanted hegemony over the Arab World and Sadam was a threat to his hegemony.So. What does Gaddafi do to lessen Saddam's rising hegemony in the Arab world and without draining his economy or military-especially since Saddam proved he's a Hardman and his political and military expertise is better than Gaddafi? He supports Iran so Saddam can be defeated. Therefore draining Saddam economically, politically and militarily and giving Gaddafi the opportunity to be on the spotlight of Arab affairs.Gaddafi was your typical autocrat who would do anything (whether it's moral or not ) to satisfy his lust for power and money.

Why do Americans think it was Obama who overthrew Gaddafi?

that's not true at all! had obama not authorized military force, there most likely never would have been any intervention at all. remember! germany, russia, china, and italy all initially opposed military intervention. obama actually got himself in trouble, had he done anything more he would have gotten himself impeached!

Should The People Who Killed Gaddafi be Prosecuted?

HOLY SH!T! A RATIONAL QUESTION IN POLITICS! Sorry, that felt good.

Short answer: Maybe? They shouldn't be put on trial for killing him, but possibly for the brutality committed to him before his death. He was able to be captured, and actually asked the rebels not to shoot him. I can understand the killing, to a point: these were citizens of his that had had enough, but to beat him and (according to some reports) sexually assault him is not right. Or maybe it is: yes it's horrible what they did to him before they killed him, but the oppressive regime he forced onto them did far worse things to far more people. It's not like NATO told the rebels, "OK, you have the dog, it's time to play with him." These are average citizens unleashing a few decades of pent-up rage on the man who oppressed them. It depends upon whether one factors in that these were average citizens and what he did to precipitate it. I suppose I'd say yes, they should be brought to trial; two wrongs don't make a right, but I would probably be lenient on them

What actually happened to Gaddafi?

i will try to be short and quick here, Gaddafi is a dump ass tyrant who used to run a country that was rich as hell and had hundreds of massive income opportunities and used to make 100 billion a year, and it had ONLY 6 million people, and instead of investing that money and recourses in educating and brightening the minds of the people he used to rule and make them creative and smart and instead of investing that money to build a foundation for a good country he spent it buying useless weapons and supporting riots around the world, he spent it teasing powerful countries as an attempt to make it on history books, there for his people remained ignorant and irrational and week and fragile towards media campaigns that could persuade the 6 million to riot against him, and thats what happened, after the uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt the western and arabic media of countries who are friends with USA and the western world started a huge campaign to make the Libyans get on the wave of whats called the Arab Spring, it succeeded, the masses rioted against him blindly due to effects of the media, the revolution lasted 8 months and ended with a civil war that led to Gadafi’s death.

For the average Libyan was it better to live under Gaddafi, or under the warlords that currently rule the country through their militias?

With Gaddafi overthrown, sadly there was no figure as dominant as him to replace him as Head of State in Libya. I'm afraid, a strong union or figure is important to what can be called a certain discipline and stability, which is where Libya falls short today. The NATO intervention, arguably necessary can only go so much in ensuring the safe and healthy future of Libyans. Remember the case of Afghanistan, where the people were 10 times better off under Soviet Occupation compared to the Civil War era in the 90's. Even after the NATO intervention in 2001, chaos reigned in Afghanistan until Mr. Karzai started flexing his muscles.

Could Gaddafi have ultimately created a Utopia in Libya?

Yes you can say that .... For someone who lived in the time of Gaddafi even for a short period I can tell you that he created the safest and most affordable living in country in the world . Free water small fee on electricity and pretty much no taxes at all what so ever .

Why did Colonel Gaddafi of Libya have female bodyguards?

They say it's because he believed that women are far more loyal than men especially being a virgin who never had a relation. Others suggest that he wanted to show the world how appreciated women are in Libya. I suggest that it's just because he was a lunatic-narcissist-crazy leader who wanted to do everything differently, in a crazy way that is, which is also obvious in the way he dressed.
