Should you cover your grill?

I will assume that you are asking if one should cover the cooking surface of the grill before cooking. Meaning putting aluminum foil or something on the grates?Always clean and heat the grill grates before cooking anything on the grill. It makes no sense to cover a grill surface with foil. If you do that then why not just cook on a frying pan surface? That is what you are doing in effect anyway if you cover the grates.Grilling over an open flame means allowing the flame to touch the item on the grill. The flame give the item its charred flavor.Whenever I am at a BBQ party and the host covers the grill with foil before cooking, I know that the person has no idea how to cook. Don”t do it.

How long to wait before putting a grill cover on?

I usually wait for the duration of the meal plus cleanup. I then check to see that the grate is cool enough to comfortably touch. By the end of dinner, it's usually cool enough,

What do i do with a dog that eats shoes, pants, grill covers, more shoes, digs giant holes, and chew any thing

I have a golden retriver and we've tried the crate, smacking him, yelling at him and we really hate to do that t's just came down to that and we can't take him on walks because he runs to fast and barks to the piont where we just have to go home and i might try the spray but we never catch him in the act so if we spray him after that he won't know what it's for and yes he's still a puppy and the cutiest and very smart puppy but he just always has to chew things and we got him a toy and he just plays with it for about 30 seconds then goes to the next thing

What’s the best way to store a grill, long term?

Living in Wyoming, this may come as a surprise but we actually grill in the winter. Though if you do have a place to store it, clean it, shut the propane off if you use gas. If it’s charcoal make sure the coals are removed. Then spend a little money and get a good grill cover. You will want one that you can tie down snug and secure. This is the best way to keep out dust and leaves. Last piece of advice check it out a couple of times while you have it in storage to make sure no critters have made a home in your grill.

How long do Weber gas grills last?

Ultimately, it depends on the amount of maintenance that the grill owner performs, and the amount and type of weather the grill is exposed to. In our area, ten years is a reasonable expectation.*We are a Weber dealer, and we routinely pick up grills that are about ten years old that are finally starting to fall apart. Left outside, the steel frames eventually rust in our humid Southern climate, even covered (and even on the premium models). However, other Weber grills are still in pretty great shape after a decade, and might just need a good cleaning before putting back into service.A base model Weber will need new grates and flavorizer bars in about five years if the grill is used regularly but kept up; in about three years if neglected. The burners will usually last between five and ten years. They are worth replacing at least once. Occasionally, the crossover burner will burn out before the main burners. If that happens, go ahead replace them all to save trouble later. Pay attention to your warranty - Weber has great customer service and will replace your burners at no charge if they fail within the warranty period. The premium models have better quality grates and flavorizers, so you can either upgrade at the original purchase or buy the better replacement parts when it comes time. For the investment, a Weber gas grill will last longer than many grills in the “under $700” range, and will work better and provide a more trouble-free experience. On the other hand, if you don’t mind getting a new grill every year or two, or really don’t grill more than five times a year, you can still spend under $300 and be relatively happy with another brand of grill.*Here’s a little disclaimer: Our experience is with the Spirit and previous Genesis series grills. We don’t know how the new Genesis II grills will do, but they appear that they will hold up as well.

How best to cook a lobster?

Here's a great receipe:

4 Medium ears corn
2 Large garlic cloves, smashed
1/8 ts Cayenne pepper
1 Large live lobster halved
Lemon wedges
1 Stick butter (4 oz.)
2 ts Minced fresh oregano
1/2 ts Salt
1 tb Olive oil
12 Littleneck clams, scrubbed

Light grill. Fill large bowl halfway with cool water. Add ears of corn with husks intact, let soak for 20 minutes.

In small saucepan, combine butter and garlic and melt over low heat. Stir in oregano, cayenne, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Cover and set aside.

Using blunt edge of knife, crack lobster claws and knuckles in 2 spots on 1 side without crushing meat. Brush shell of lobster body and uncracked side of claws and knuckles with olive oil. Place lobster pieces cracked side up on platter, brush with some reserved herb butter.

Drain ears of corn and place on center of grill. Cover and grill for 5 minutes.

Add lobster pieces, cracked side up, cover and grill, occasionally brushing with herb butter, for 15 minutes.

Brush ears of corn thouroughly with fresh water and rotate slightly.

Add the clams to the hotest spot on the grill. Cover and grill about 5 minutes, until clams open. Leave unopened clams on grill while transferring opened clams, corn and lobster to a large platter.

Using tongs, check lobster for doneness by pulling up the tail meat and ckecking underside; it should be firm and dark orange; return to grill if required (DO NOT OVERCOOK!).

Remove remaining clams from grill, discard any unopened. Brush the clams and lobster tails with more herb butter. Peel and discard husks and silks from corn; brush with herb butter. Garnish with lemon wedges and serve; pass remaining butter for dipping.
