I would recommend Discogs. There are several advantages over eBay, the most important of which are:- You are selling what sounds like classic records that are in demand. This means that collectors trying to get their hands on them might have been looking for them for a while. They are not likely to perform a eBay search in the limited period that your auction is on. However, they will probably have added them to their "wantlist" on Discogs and will get a notification. With Discogs, you're in no rush to sell your records at the fair price.- Speaking of which, Discogs will give you a good idea of how much your records are worth. How to gain access to the turntable belt on a vintage Zenith Allegro Wedge?
My guess is that the turntable in such a unit would be idler wheel drive. These tables use a rubber idler wheel between the motor drive shaft and a rim on the platter as the drive system. There's probably a C-clip at the center spindle holding the platter down. You'll have to slide that off sideways, using a small screwdriver or needle nosed pliers. Then, the platter will lift off. The idler wheels often develop a hard, thin, slippery glaze on them and very lightly sanding around the edge can restore it's grip. If it's deformed, you'll need a new one or to have somebody replace the rubber portion. There are a few turntable repair people online who can do that. You could also lube the center shaft and clean and lube any ball bearings the platter rides on, usually under a washer around the center shaft. Vaseline works well for this and it's actually pretty close to the original lube used. Good luck! EDIT: I found a photo of your unit. Yes... it's idler drive and yes... there's a C-clip around the top of the center shaft preventing the platter from being lifted. Removing the mat or the center trim ring may give you better acces to the C-clip if they're not glued down. Also could be an issue with the spring that pulls the idler wheel against the motor drive shaft and the rim on the platter.
