Attend conventions, state meetings, and conferences in and around NC. Head to various NC groups' websites and look for job listings. If you didn't mean to post in this section, then how you look for a job will depend on the type of work you are looking for. Professionals can use head hunters, networking, and job listing websites. Cold applications by searching corporate websites are also a start. For skilled work, contact local organizations and unions. For unskilled non-professional work, make a trip out there and turn in applications or have enough in savings to keep you going for 6 months. You can also search for jobs online via company websites and classified ads. I moved cross country without a job prospect and I did an early scouting trip. I interviewed with a couple job placement temp agencies and turned in applications at several retail stores. I got a temp job within a few weeks of moving there and getting settled in and got a full time good job within 3 months of being there.

If you are planning to relocate to a different state, I would suggest adding this in to a cover letter along with your resume. Be specific with when you can start though and make sure to allow enough time to find a place, get settled. You could also reach out to employment agencies in the new area where you will be moving so they can help you with your search.
