Decorating Teen Girl Bedroom Tips!!?

What's the best way to store wood furniture in an unattached garage?

I would avoid storing it directly on a concrete floor.  Moisture tends to absorb into wood (unless you are in a very dry climate) and can cause it to swell or warp.  Have an air gap beneath by using an old pallet or 2x4's. If there is potential for insect infestation bag the furniture (or wrap in plastic) with some cedar inside the bag.

Do you use your garage for storage or for the car?

Both. I have a metal garage with boxed eave roof. Its dimensions are 22W x 26L x 9H with a side entry garage. I have one car. After parking it effectively, there is always plenty of space left. So, I use it for storage purpose. There are many things that I cannot keep inside my house. I have effectively stored them in the garage. I have reconstructed it in a way that my garage has an entertainment area. There is a sofa, two chairs, and a TV. My friends and I usually hang out there. The parking area is enough for my car, and I efficiently operate it whenever required. So, I have a garage that serves two purposes: a garage to park a vehicle and a storage space.

Is cold temperature bad for wooden furniture?

The answer is no, and hot temperatures are not bad for furniture either. What is bad is constant temperature fluctuation from hot to really cold.Say you are worried about leaving furniture in a cold garage in storage. During the day the temperatures can dramatically rise and at night fall back down to freezing temperatures during the winter. It is the temperature shift that causes wood to warp, as wood expands when hot and contracts when cold. The key to keeping furniture in pristine condition is to store in consistent temperature and humidity. It’s more of a problem when your items are in storage for many years, from summer to winter as humidity fluctuates. Parts of the world that have the same climate year round do not suffer from this.If you don’t plan on keeping your furniture for a century there is really nothing to worry about, it can take decades to cause any damage or years depending on the wood. This is why antique furniture can and will show signs of warping and cracking. They had to use stronger wood back in the day like cherry as families would pass their tables and chairs down from generation to generation.
