Which minivan is better : Toyota Sienna or Honda Odyssey.?

Honda has been the best minivan ever since it debuted, and '07 changes nothing. Anyone whos name is ToyTech (as in toyota), or works for toyota has to be more than biased. Honda has dominated, and will continue to dominate as long as they make the odyssey. The '08 Chrysler might compete, but will fall short of the Honda. Toyota is also the most recalled company of '06, with Ford in second. Any of Toyotas new designs has fallen way short of that "legendary" reliability. While Toyota is falling, GM has kicked it up a notch and is producing some of the best vehicles, especially from the Saturn lineup.

What makes a better used minivan purchase, a Chrysler Town and Country or a Honda Odyssey?

Get the Honda. Chrysler went bankrupt for a reason. My dad just recently retired his 15-year-old Odyssey. Not because it stopped working, but because we just didn't need a minivan any more. I don't know many people with still-running Chrysler that are over 10 years old, but nearly every family on my street (as well as four or five of my friends' families) has an Odyssey from the early 2000s.

What mini vans get the best gasoline mileage?

If you could downsize a bit, I think the Mazda 5 is a great buy! It looks better than any minivan, can hold 7 people, and gets the best gas mileage. It's a bit smaller than a regular minivan, but unless you have a family of 6+, this should do fine:

Looks pretty good too! Plus it would be the cheapest!

Why do Americans prefer SUVs when Minivans drive better and have more interior space?

Vans and minivans are by far the most space efficient vehicles on the road. They pack as much possible enclosed space into the smallest exterior package, and are remarkably capable for carrying passengers and cargo. Minivans definitely have more interior space than SUV’s. They are also extremely versatile for loading, unloading, camping and other tasks. This is why they’ve remained so popular over the years.SUV’s are also highly effective for the functions for which they’ve been designed, which is primarily light hauling and some light off-road use. The SUV is actually a type of station wagon, with higher ground clearance, often AWD or 4WD and a more “adventurous” image and character.Comparing the two can be problematic, since their roles only cross in the area of carrying passengers. In every other way, they are different. The fairly recent trend towards SUV’s away from minivans has to do with perception more than capability. SUV’s are considered less domestic and mundane than a minivan. It has more rugged characteristics, and many are available in luxury trim which rivals many world-class luxury cars. They are not perceived as domestic or mundane. Also, because SUV’s sit higher, and are more “truck-like,” they are considered safer in an accident. Visibility can also be better than in a minivan.A car represents a considerable investment. It’s often the second largest investment we will make, next to a home. As cars become more and more expensive, and people keep them longer, many are thinking beyond simple utility and usefulness and are buying for image as well. While manufacturers, such as Chrysler, continue to invest in the minivan segment and push it to new limits with the Pacifica, manufacturers are missing a possible market, which could bridge both segments. That is the 4WD minivan.Minivans have on occasion been produced with AWD as an option, but none have been produced with off-road use as a viable possibility. Some manufacturers today, such as Mercedes, with the Metris, do sell a 4WD small van, and these can be modified for a more rugged, off road capability and character, but it seems that manufacturers have an opportunity to combine the cool-factor of an off-road SUV with the usefulness and utility of a minivan.

Problem with Chrysler town and country minivan?

My family and I rented a chrysler town and country minivan for our vacation to California. We just picked it up and decided to check out the DVD players, but when we looked for the headphones, they weren't there. The dealership we rented it from is closed and we are leaving before they open again tomorrow. Is there any way to listen to the two players separately without having the wireless headphones? Such as ports for wired headphones? ANY ANSWERS APPRECIATED!
Thank you,

Is it okay as a driver to use a minivan for ride-sharing, Uber or Lyft?

Yes “it’s okay” just know that states and cities govern acceptable vehicles for the basic Uber and Lyft ride services. Your minivan will have to qualify based on the model year required by your state/city.Uber and Lyft do define requirements for their premium/luxury vehicle services but that’s a different animal.A minivan will qualify for Uber XL and Lyft XL because it has at least 6 seats/seat belts. This means the minivan will be eligible to receive and accept trip requests for the more expensive larger vehicle options, however, most of the time a minivan will be completing the same passenger trips as I do in my Toyota Prius which are almost always one passenger trips… the minivan will cost more to own and operate…. more expenses equals lower take home pay.Where a minivan might have an edge is for Uber Pool and Lyft Shared. The software algorithms must love all those available seats. If there is a “50 trips for X $$$”promotion going like an Uber Quest, a minivan might get to the required number of passenger trips more quickly because a minivan is more likely to receive Uber Pool and Lyft Shared passenger trip requests. Every new Pool/Shared pool trip equals another trip toward the Uber Quest bonus. On the other hand Pool/Shared rides can feel like a lot more work for only a little more money. I know there have been a couple of times I’ve turned off the Uber/Lyft application because having passengers always in my car for more than an hour at a time can be pretty intense for the driver. After a brief break I turn the application back on.To learn more about rideshare driving earnings check out my recent response to a Quora question about rideshare driver earnings:Wylee Post's answer to How much can one really earn driving for Uber or Lyft?So good luck with your minivan! For more meaningful answers to rideshare driving questions check out my Quora Profile to see what we are up to at RideshareGuide.~ YRideshare Industry Analyst for RideshareGuide
