What will happen if I'm taking Adderall now and then i start taking Topamax?
They can be safely taken together, there are no problems in that sense. I can say that both from personal experience and from a professional view. The dose of Topamax can really alter what it does. Some people respond well to 50 mg/day. Others need 200 mg/day, typically the largest "normal" dose. I have taken 400 mg of Topamax a day 200 mg morning and again at night. At a dose that high is can be very sedating. I have also noticed that many people on high dose Topamax do not really understand how sedated they actually are- it can be very subtle. I know that was the case with me. Taking both might cause some extra weight loss in some people, especially if you lost weight on either Topamax or Adderall before. I take 60 mg of Adderall a day and I found that lower doses of Topamax (under 100 mg) did not cause many issues but the higher the dose the more tired I became, the more sleep. Luckily my migraines are gone. And you probably do know that Topamax is some times used to treat bipolar and can significantly help some people. So a modest dose of Topamax with the Adderall might be very helpful just in terms of the bipolar. Do you take any other medications like Lithium, Lamictal, Tegretol? And most other medications to treat migraines are a not the best options. Beta-blockers and Adderall cancel part of each others effect out. Antidepressants might not be good because of risk of mania, especially when mixed with Adderall. Depakote is used for both bipolar and migraines. But that is a very "hard core" drug and it best to be avoided if possible. And opioids, benzodiazepines, and barbiturates are typically best only for people who have occasional migraines. Atarax/Vistaril (hydroxyzine) is often used with other medications to treat migraine. It also lowers anxiety, which might help a bit. So yes the medications are fine together but I would see if you could get some samples and slowly increase your dose according to your doctor's recommendation. You are right you don't want to spend a massive amount of money on Topamax if it will be useless- thus samples. If you have any questions or need more advice feel free to let me know. Can a person with bipolar disorder become a police officer?
I have recently been diagnosed bipolar, I have bipolar II traits but my psychiatrist is leaning bipolar I simply based on the length of my episodes. I’m a former Army soldier, and Military Police officer, I grew up in Montana, I’ve had high stress jobs and low stress jobs and I can handle all of those things without a problem because how a person handles something is part of your personality, whether or not you have discipline, empathy, situational awareness, and the like. If you don’t have these things you might have a personality disorder, not a mood disorder. It deeply concerns me that these two things are largely mixed together, even in the eyes of some professionals! Sure I have down days or weeks, and I have weeks where I can do two bathroom remodels and clean out my entire garage. At no time during either one of those phases has my personality changed, or my view on human life, or how I interact with others in terms of understanding them, in terms of empathizing with them, in terms of understanding their emotional state and what they mean, and how I would interact with them on a factual intellectual level. I don’t have a personality disorder. My personality does not change regardless of where I am in the mood swing. Some of these comments are distressing to me. I hope in the future and going forward that there is more of a general understanding out there about what types of mental illness are a danger to society and what types of mental illness are not.

LOL! LOL! oh my goodness. You sound just like my husband! LOL! I do pitty you. When our cat went into heat, she was meowing very loudly in a moaning sort of way.....all the time...all night long. My husband started screaming, "if you don't shut up, I am going to stick something up there and cure your problem"!!! He of course was very frustrated. Another cat we had did not make the same noise as our other. This one was weird and acted like she was on lithium or something....she would make this "murp" sound is the only way I can describe it.. It did not sound like she was suffering, (like our other cat did) it was a happy sounding murp. LOL! If you pet her, she would get very happy. LOL!!!
