What Is The Cheapest Route From I95n Into Brooklyn

What are the toll charges when driving from Brooklyn, NY to Stamford, Connecticut?

To clarify on the toll getting on 95N, which is also named The New England Thruway for that stretch, there is 1.50 charge.

Like the others said, if you go through Manhattan and take the Brooklyn Bridge, then the West Side Highway, there will be no tolls till the NE Thruway toll.

I will be driving from New York to Las Vegas. What is the best route to follow, and what would be some important sights to see along the way.?

The time of the year can be a factor.   In winter I'd be inclined to take a route through the south.   How long you have is another issue.   I've become disollusioned by long distance driving on Interstates and I've taken to using the old highways that often parallel the Interstates.   They go though little towns (watch out for speed limits, local law enforcement can be heavy) and there is significantly less traffic but, of course, they are slower. If you choose to follow I80 Chicago is worth a stop.   In Nebraska you'll pass North Platte which is home to what is claimed to be the biggest railroad sortation yard in the world and there is a tower that overlooks the whole complex. The Interstate route will then take you down I76 to Denver.   Forget it.   Continue I80 through to Cheyenne and then drop a little south to go through the Rocky Mountain National Park rejoining what will be I70 around Vail.   Continue into Utah then turn south to Moab, see Arches and Canyonlands National Parks.Go back to I70 and at Green River turn south and go through Capitol Reef National Park and then into Grand Staircase Esacalante, Bryce, Zion, Las Vegas.

What is the best route to drive from New York to Las Vegas, Nevada?

So many choices!!!The northern route takes you through Chicago (I-80)….The I-76/I-70 route takes you through the mountains, Denver and Salt Lake City…I-40 will take you through Nashville, Memphis and Oklahoma City….A lot depends on the time of year and how long a trip you plan to make it.Do you want to just drive as fast as you can? Stop and see the sights? Avoid the snow? Etc.

What is the best driving route from Boston to Washington DC?

I do this drive every few months. Going southbound, I like taking 84 to 684 and the Saw Mill Parkway to get to 287 and the Tappan Zee. Note that there are a few traffic signals on the parkway as you approach 287. From there I take the Garden State Parkway to 95, and move over to 295 as soon as possible to avoid some of the Turnpike tolls. I also like to roure around the “Delaware Turnpike” toll plaza north of the Maryland line - taking side roads from the last DE exit to the first MD on-ramp adds five minutes, but saves $4 and is convenient for any tax-free Delaware shopping I might want to do!

Can Google Maps calculate my toll costs?

Google maps does not support this at this time. Clearly, as Google provides information such as the timings of public transport, it could technically support this feature to at least provide an estimate of the charges. Perhaps in the future google will or it may be a feature provided by a competitor.

Which has more rush hour traffic, tappan zee bridge or george washington bridge?

Hands down GWB (George Washington Bridge). especially during rush hr. Many truck drivers will find a place to park or run I287 across the Tappan Zee. It runs about 30-40mi longer, but you running more consistently than on I95, & unless you are pulling a trailer, the 1st toll booth you may see is when you get on the NJTP @exit 10.

I am a truck driver on a dedicated account. We use to have a run from New Castle, DE to Springfield, MA that picked up around 4am or so. If we ran across the GWB, we were lucky to make it by teh 11am delivery time. The Tappan Zee route added about 40mi to the run, but most of the time, we had time to stop & take a quick break before heading into the customer, which we weren't able to do crossing the GW. Hope I helped!!

Best time to avoid NYC traffic?

Like whats been said on here before, the best time would be overnights. After 9pm is alright, but Midnight and later would be best. Whatever you do avoid 7am-10am and 3:30pm - 8pm if at all possible.

However I must warn you that I-95 through NYC includes the Cross Bronx Expressway which is notorious for horrendous traffic at any and all times. It can be relatively traffic free during late nights but that certainly is no guarantee. Being stuck in bumper to bumper traffic at 2am for its entire length is not out the question. Especially if there is overnight construction. Also, if you pass this area just before or after a Yankee game then its gonna be rough going.

Since your going to CT, you might considering bypassing the Cross BX, by going north thru NJ to Rockland County, NY.
To do this exit I-95 just before the George Wash. Bridge to the Palisades Pkwy N (NOTE: this can be a confusing interchange)
Then take I-287 E toward the Tappan Zee Bridge.
Stay on I-287 E (now the Cross Westchester Expy) until you pick up I-95 N again near the NY/CT border, OR to the Hutchinson River Pkwy North, which turns into the Merritt Pkwy in CT.

Just an alternate to consider if you want to be adventurous and skip around NYC itself.
