What are some common behavioral job interview questions and what if you get stuck?

As an employer I want to know that the candidate is...

1) qualified for the position or trainable
2) capable of working with others with minimal conflict (I understand that not everyone gets along)
3) on time, on task, on target with their assignments
4) ethical, moral, and legal

I don't look for perfection... I'm the boss... and I'M NOT.

Be honest. Take your time and give thought to your answers... even chuckle if you find the questions humorous or unusual to release tension... we often know the questions are strange, like "what are your LEAST FAVORABLE QUALITIES?" To me it's a dumb question... but I will ask it to catch the candidate reaction.

Don't be ashamed to ask if you do not fully understand what is being asked.

To prepare I suggest a "mock interview" with someone you trust in their opinion or someone who is in the line of work you are seeking. Then there is just tape recording yourself and being your own critic. It used to work for me.

I had a dream, whats does it mean?

Dreaming about wetting oneself at work are similar to "naked dreams" it represents a lack of control in your life. You are experiencing a lot of anxieties. You may be concerned with not being accepted because of your beliefs or behaviors. Urinating in fromt of your boss might indicate insecurities or feelings of inferiority at your job. Alternatively it may mean intimidation by any authority figure and frustrations that you are being controlled and and not able to express yourself. Your boss's acceptance is your unconcious mind telling you "it's ok, don't worry".

Are you coming up to an advancement at work or new responsibilities and are afraid or unsure about it? Believe it or not having sex in a dream with an actor symbolizes your new "role" you might be taking and it relates to the new responsibilies that you will be taking on and the uncertainty that that may bring.

Dogs signify skills and intuition also a sense of loyalty and dependability. Cutting off your dogs paw at work signifies that you may have lost your ability to balance aspects of your life. You may be hesitant in approaching a new situation or have no desire to move forward with your goals. A car crash dream usually means that you feel like your life is a wreck. Look at how the car crash occured in the dream. Did another car hit yours? Was there ice or water on a highway? What leads up to the crash is usually a good indicator of how you are perceiving what is occuring in your life. If someone else hit your car you may feel the a situation is 'not your fault'

These themes may or may not concern you. Think about what you are dealing with at work and the relationship you have with your boss and other authority figures and see what they mean to you.

What to do about menacing neighbor kids harassing my dog?

I live in an apt complex and my neighbor's 2 boys (ages around 8 and 5?) constantly pester my dog when I take him out. It started out with throwing rocks at him and let me tell you, I have never told off someone else's kids so bad before in my life! After that, it stopped for about 2 weeks. Yesterday, however, while my dog was let off lead in a big field that is next to the bldg I live in to play fetch, these two little monsters saw me let him off of his lead and decided it was a good idea to slide tackle him and take off running. I have called the mgmt and let them know ab each incident as it has happened, as these aren't the only two, but since I don't know which apt they live in and the mother is never EVER anywhere in sight they can't really deal with the prob directly. I won't be taking my dog to play there anymore but he will still have to go outside to "potty". Anything I can do to eliminate this prob?

How do you deal with a bitchy coworker?

If you have already gone to your manager and there wasn't much done, they are a. waiting to see how you handle it or b. do not want to be bothered.
Next time she pulls the attitude, call her out on it. Ask her if you have offened her in some way. This usually trips them up when you put them on the spot or they act like they have no idea what you could possibly be talking about.
Just tell her that you have been receiving some bad vibes and if there is something wrong to please tell you and if there isn't, you would appreciate if it wasn't taken out on you.
Then you have taken the higher road and did not sink to her level. If it continues, I would go to the human resource department and let them handle it from there.
Or you could try the "kill them with kindness" approach but that usually takes too long and only works about 50% of the time.

How do I deal with a micro manager?

Carmen Adams,Allow them to micro manage.what I went through a few months ago deserves the micro-managing I get now.I allowed my work to get 5 behind 5 months, because of this it could have done a lot of damage to the company. I was sick and dealing with my dad who was recovering from a stroke.I should have told my boss that I needed time off during this time. I didn’t and allowed things to happen.When he demoted me to less work. I was okay with it.During that time he would double and triple check my work scrutinize if it was behind.He has every right, I had failed and let him down and everyone else.I took it personally. I am an overachiever I have to do it perfectly. I am my biggest enemy.During the next few months I made sure to get the work done promptly.i think only 3–5 times did it get behind.I always went and hit hard when it got like that. Caught it right up when my boss brought it to my attention.Pay days we’re hatd, because it wasn’t what I wanted.I would contemplate do I stay or quit? I roughed it put.Now, he doesn’t trust me totally. I understand why.However, this past week.When I got an email asking if I wanted to try for more work? I said yes.I worked diligently and got it caught up.This has changed my attitude and my work ethic.If I need to present myself, I need to bring my 1000% to the table.So he gets my all.I am like yes, this will be completed with a date and time for him.The best way is to do your best, prove you are worthy of his trust. Your boss might have been butmrnt by a bad employee. Allow him to do what he needs to do. He will eventually stop hopefully.Put your best foot forward.

Insects are cold blooded, meaning they cannot regulate their body temperature on their own. So when it gets cooler out, their blood congeals more and their reflexes are slowed.

How should I deal with a disruptive and harsh co-worker? She won’t stop annoying me at work, asking me stupid questions or to tell jokes and she keeps taking the piss out of me to the point where it isn’t funny anymore, what should I do?

Have you told her she’s bothering you and disrupting your work? If not, you need to tell her that. You could say, “Sorry, I can’t talk now. I have to concentrate on getting this finished.” Or something like, “You’re interrupting my train of thought. I really need to get my work done, so please don’t talk to me right now.”You don’t say whether she’s someone whose company you enjoy outside of work. Because if she just bugs you at work, but otherwise she’s OK to hang out with, just tell her (when you’re not at work) that you’d prefer to keep the joke-telling and gossip and so forth for when you’re on lunch break or after work. Tell her that it interferes with your ability to concentrate and do a good job, and you’re afraid it will affect your performance evaluation. If she likes and respects you, hopefully she will respect your wishes.If she doesn’t respect your space and your need to concentrate on your work, then tell your supervisor what’s going on. Tell the supervisor that you’ve spoken to this woman and asked her not to disrupt your work, but she continues to do so, and it’s becoming a problem for you. Then it will be up to your supervisor to deal with her. If she gets angry with you for the supervisor getting on her case, then she’s not a very good friend to you. Hopefully she’ll be so pissed off with you that she’ll never talk to you again. Problem solved!
