What Is The Difference Between 2ds And 3ds And What Is The Difference Between Those And A Dsi

What is the difference between Nintendo 2ds, ds lite and dsi ?

To put this in short...

* DS Lite -- Costs: ~$40-$60 USED (Discontinued, not available new) -- Plays DS & GBA games.

* DSi -- Costs: $100 (regular) / $120 NEW (Discontinued) -- Plays DS games & DSiWare

* 2DS -- Costs: $130 NEW -- Plays DS, 3DS Retail / Digital (in 2D only), 3DS VC & 3DSWare

* 3DS -- Costs: $170 (regular) / $200 (XL) NEW -- Plays DS, 3DS Retail / Digital, 3DS VC & 3DSWare

If you want to buy something that you won't have to replace within a year... you'll either want to go with the 2DS OR the 3DS as it can play practically all the DS games (except for the Guitar Hero: On Tour series) & give you access to the 3DS library as well.

The 2DS is good as a entry level system, but it's slate design does limit portability a bit (as you can't tuck it into a pocket). The 3DS's clamshell design is good for pockets, but the XL's size counters it a bit.

While the choice is ultimately up to you, she'd likely be happier with either 2DS or a 3DS.

What is the difference between Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 2DS?

2DS is a 3DS but without 3D. It was made for children ages 5-7, since 3D is not recommendes because it can hurt their eyes. People are very stupid saying that they can just turn off the 3D on the 3DS and that it's pointless to release the 2DS. Well those idiots don't know that 3D technology adds $40 to the manufacturing cost of the system. The 2DS is $129. $40 cheaper than the 3DS because they removed the 3D feature. But it plays the exact same 3DS and regular DS games. And it has all the same online features. Would you pay $40 extra for a 3DS if you're never gonna use the 3D? That's like paying $100 extra for an Xbox One over a PS4 just because it has a camera. And PS4 does the exact same things for a cheaper price.
I've held the 2DS at PAX and surprisingly, it is very comfortable. I will buy one for my niece this Holiday and one for myself as well since I could care less about 3D. The games look better in 2D anyways. Graphics wise. So I'd recommend one. It's small, comfortable, and is very sturdy. Looks like it can be dropped a hundred times and still work perfectly.

What are the differences between a Nintendo DS Lite and a Nintendo 3DS?

3DS has bigger screens than a DS LiteDS Lite has Pictochat. 3DS does not.3DS has tons of pre-installed applications and a play store to download more apps to the system. On DS Lite, you can only use DS download play and any game catridges you have.3DS plays DS games, DSi games, and 3DS game cards. DS Lite plays only DS game cards (it gives a notice when you open a DSi game that you cannot play it, and won’t even read a 3DS card, but also plays GBA games.If you play a DS game with dual slot features on a DS with the right GBA game in, you can use those features. You cannot use dual slot features on a 3DS because there is only a card slot.3DS has a control stick and the control pad but DS Lite has only a control padDS Lite comes in only one size, but in many more colours than 3DS. 3DS comes in two sizes and less colour options.3DS and DS Lite use slightly different chargers3DS can access content from an SD card. DS Lite has no such featureDS Lite has been around since I was in elementary school. 3DS was released when I was in high school.You can buy a DS Lite for as little as 5 bucks at a garage sale (I have done this twice). You will probably not find a 3DS at such a place, and can expect to pay at least 100 bucks for it.

Does the Nintendo DSi car charger work for the Nintendo 3DS?

Yes, yes it does. The Nintendo DSi and 3DS system families all use the same connector for charging. All of the DSi and 3DS systems also use the same power input for charging. This means that any charger that works for one system within one of those families works for all of the other systems.TL;DR If your car charger works for one, it’ll work for all. Just don’t try to charge an original DS or a DS lite with it.

Does R4i Gold 3DS work on DSi Firmware 1.4.5U?

I know there a TON of these questions spread all over the Internet. Maybe I'm on the wrong side of the Internet by using Yahoo Answers I just really want to know. I'm kind of a novice(more like a noob?) in this subject. I just started researching this stuff.

Stupid story no one wants to read but a good samaritan:
My cousin gave me a DSi, don't have a budget to buy multiple games and I want to do a one and only purchase to satisfy my gaming needs.

From what I heard AceKard 2i doesn't work on 1.4.5U because it is physically impossible for the cartridge to bypass the new firmware, also their team is really lazy and doesn't respond emails, they also don't look like they will research another flashcart.

I just really want to know if it works because of my noob concern, since it says 3DS on the title maybe it would not run on DSi?

The reason I did that really long answer is because I've searched and found no concrete answer, always criticizing the card or whatnot. I want to help other gamers find the answer right away like I hoped I would.

*I can't afford to spend more than $30

What are some tips for choosing between the DS Lite and DSi?

This depends. The primary difference between DS Lite and DSi is that the latter can play DSiWare downloaded from the online store, but not GBA games. However, the DSLite can play DS games off an R4 or other flash cart, if you like to keep your entire collection at hand. Truth be told, if you don't care about flash cart or GBA functionality, you're better off getting something from the 2DS/3DS family. There's nothing the DSi can do that they can't, you get access to the 3DS library as well as the DS, and the price difference between them is negligible if you shop around. Currently, a DSi is $91 on Amazon, while a 2DS with Mario Kart 7 is $95.

2ds won't read 3ds games and Ds games?

This happened Yesterday my brother was playing Pokemon X just fine, and when we were about to play SSB4 it didn't read I try putting X back and didn't read it either. I also tried my old Ds games and none of them were reading them, but my ds games work on the dsi that I had for almost 4 years. I bought the system last year just before Christmas and it was a present that I gave to my brother with Pokemon X, both Items I bought them at Kmart and put a 2 Year Warranty, Idk if I should go to Kmart or Contact Nintendo.

If i want to keep my brother's current Sd card that has save files can you like Switch it with a new one? I don't want my brother to lose his data, or I either have to save everything on my computer.

Also I tried doing the paper trick and it didn't work.

Which Nintendo DS should I buy?

I'm looking to buy a Nintendo DS, but I'm not sure which version I should get, so I'm reviewing the pros and cons.

I'm not interesting in buying the latest version JUST because it's the latest on the market, so I'm really looking at the DSLite and the DSi. I like the DS Lite because I can play DS games and Gameboy games and I wouldn't have to switch between consoles (I have quite a few Gameboy devices). I like the DSi for the camera and game market and updated system. What I want, really, is the DSi with Gameboy capabilities. Is there a device I can attach to it so that I can play Gameboy games on the DSi? That would be perfect.

Here are my questions:
-Were the graphics and gameplay VASTLY improved between the DS Lite and DSi?
-Are the older DS games, like, the Nintendogs I bought when the DS first came out eons ago, compatible with the DSi or even the 3DS?
-What do you think are the pros and cons of ALL the DS models?

Many thanks!
