What Is The Difference Between Astrology And Racism

What's the difference between astrology and astromogy?

Astrology is divination, belief based magical thinking. Astronomy is a science. Which means it's claims can and does pass testing.

But astronomy's and other modern sciences do have there roots in ancient practices. Such a astrology and alchemy. This shows the self correcting attribute that science has. When better evidence is produced, the old ways are discarded.

What's the difference between astrology and racism?

@sparrowbird
that's all nice, great connection you made there. but why, then when i do research on astrological placements, even when reading, "Astrologers" make damn sure to group people all in one boat.
how do they know for sure that so and so placement is conclusive? did they go out meeting 1 million other people born with that placement? do they fail to see how their vagueness confuses enthusiasts? I consider myself a partial skeptic and partial believer but astrology, it's so vague at times. the content I absorb can literally be applied to the entire human race.

Does race/culture have an affect on astrology?

First let me say, I'm NOT racist and I'm NOT trying to stir up drama. It's just a simple question. I'm not much of a believer but I do find astrology to be interesting and entertaining. With that being said let me start with this. Do those of you who follow astrology believe that race has an affect on a persons sign? I'm curious about this because "some" (not all) people generalize and assume that everyone from a certain sign acts exactly the same. So what I want to know is will people of different races but share the same sign act alike or will their be differences? For example, will an aries who is Caucasian act the same as an aries who is African American? The same for a Virgo who is from South America (of hispanic heritage) and a virgo from Africa. And to make things more interesting, lets say that these examples I've used have identical charts. No differences at all, not one thing is different from the other. With that being said, do you think these people would act exactly the same or do you think that their cultural back ground would be a factor? I really want to know what people think because it's very annoying when some people generalize and think everyone from a certain sign is exactly the same. So what do you think, does race and cultural background affect on someones astrological sign. Or do some people actually believe that no matter where you're from and how you're raised that you'll be what your sign describes? I personally believe that the way you're raised and brought up is what makes you who you are (example where you live, the way your parents are, family values ect). But I want to hear your opinions, do you think race, religion, culture (ect) have an affect on astrology? This is a very serious question intended for mntrature answerers. Please be mature and give me your honest opinions. Thanks.

Why is astrology the cousin of racism?

it discriminates and gives you traits based on something you have no control of: how youre born. one is what month youre born in, the other one is what skin color you are.

that is why i hate astrology. people always ask you the sign you are, and then proceed to form a opinion based on their prejudice about how that sign is, instead of taking a chance to get to know you.

nobody fits into those stupid astrology boxes any ways.
dont tell me theres a whole chart, cause i know all about it. i studied many versions (chinese, western, vedic, etc.) and they all say different things about you. each chart from each one contradicts each other.
so, how can you say one version is the right one?

its also morally wrong to judge people based on when they are born.

just replace "i never get along with sagittariuses" with a racial slur. i'll do it for you:
"i never get along with jews"... now how does that sound?
