What Is The Difference Between Jet-black And Raven-black Hair

What's the difference between black hair and jet black hair?

I don't understand the difference between black hair and jet black hair. Because black is black it doesn't get any darker, since black IS the darkest color. And light black is gray but gray is a entirely new color on its own. I remember hearing somewhere that emo's had jet black hair and that probably has nothing to do with it but if it does let me know. So could someone please tell me difference or if there is even is a difference. Serious answers only please.

What is the difference in black hair colors?

Okay so I have very dark brown hair and I have been thinking about going a shade or two darker and dyeing my hair black. So I was looking online and it said that there are 4 different main black shades. Velvet Black, Jet Black, Blue Black, and Raven Black. I thought that they were all the same color! (Except Blue Black, I know what that looks like.) Can someone please tell me the difference between these shades. And if you are feeling generous, kind you please leave pictures with your descriptions?

What's the difference between jet black, natural black, and soft black hair color?

It is the intensity of the black, and the undertones. A jet black will probably have more blue/purple undertones to make it thart dark. A natural and soft black will not be as intense, but may also fade quicker. Try to use the color guide on the box to get an idea of your results absed on your vurrent hair color. Just remember, it is easier to go darker than lighter. If you try soft black and its not dark enough, just go tot he next shade.

What is the difference between brunette and black hair?

Brunette hair gives the shade of brown whereas black is black. :)Brunette Hair Color:Black Hair Color:

Is Raven Black the same thing as Jet Black (for hair dye)? What is Raven Black?

I read an article saying that Raven black would look good with my skin tone which is ivory with pink undertones and medium blue eyes.

I have this hairdye that is ion color brilliance JetBlack 1V (violet base) and was wondering if Jet Black is considered Raven Black? and if not what is Raven Black? What base does it have (like Gold, ash, blue, violet)????

Difference between ebony and black?

There is a difference, but it depends on the material. I went to a bridal shoppe and they had all of the "Black" Colors together and there is a difference, even if its slight:

Example: Satin
Ebony has an ever so slight brown tinge to it
Raven, supposedly reflective of the bird itself, so there is a slight yellow tinge in the sunlight
Some of the blacks have a dull tint to them etc.

If you want just plain shiny black, go with Jet Black. Just like there are many reds, blues, yellows etc, there are many different shades of black, that can run from Black to gray or Black to brown. Just go to a bridal shoppe and compare the materials. They generally have swatches that you can put together to see (1) what kind of material looks good in black (2) if that material in that color will the entire bridal party.

How can i tell if my hair is soft-black, raven black, or jet-black?

Soft black has no other tone in it it's just black and it's not shiny it's dull. To see if your hair's dull put it in light- if it shines its actually jet black if it doesn't shine it's soft black. Raven black actually has like a navy blue tone to it. So if your hair is just black it's not raven black

If a jet black haired parent and a blonde parent have children, what color hair would the children likely have?

You can study dominant and recessive genetics and you will learn that brown eyes are the dominant (most prevalent) gene. Blonde hair is the recessive gene and thus less common. Even when a person is born with blonde hair, it may turn darker with age.I will tell you that I know of one true blonde/blue eyed person in my immediate family. My father’s mom. She also had natural curly, blonde hair ( both recessive genes). = Both her sons (my father (green eyes/recessive gene) and uncle/my father’s brother) had jet black hair.=My mother and father (green eyes/recessive gene) both had jet black hair.=The 3 children born of my parents all had jet black hair. 1 child got the recessive gene for green eyes. 2 had no kids. 1 had 9 kids (me).= I have 1 blonde haired/blue eyed (both recessive genes) child with her father who (like me) has dark hair and brown eyes. She is 17 years young. So it is likely she will maintain her blonde hair.=I had 1 child with a man who has blonde hair/blue eyes. Our child has medium brown hair and blue eyes. The moral of the story is that yes, the recessive genes will eventually show themselves down the line but not necessarily in the 1st or 2nd or 3rd generations. And person with brown eyes must also have the recessive gene for blue eyes in order to have a blue eyed child. So! you just never know who has those recessive genes hiding behind their dark hair and dark eyes. And honestly, the real deal is that anybody can change their hair color or lose their hair, so at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter. lol
