What Is The Difference Between Mechanical And Automotive Engineering

What is the difference between mechanical & automotive engineering (MAM) and automobile engineering?

Automotive engineering and Automobile engineer is a core branch of mechanicalengineering.Automotive Engineering is a sub-branch of vehicle engineering. It can also be considered as a sub-branch of mechanical engineering that has split from the main branch focusing on the automotive field of study. Automobile engineering focuses on the cars. It specifically deals with the designing of cars, operations in production of cars, designing of engines and fuel management. Thus, automobile engineering can be considered as a sub branch of automotive engineering. However, generally both the branches are used interchangeably to denote a branch dealing with motor vehicles.

What's the difference between automotive engineering and automotive technology?

Modern automotive engineering is a branch of vehicle engineering, incorporating elements of mechanical, electrical, electronic, software and safety engineering as applied to the design, manufacture and operation of motorcycles, automobiles, buses and trucks and their respective engineering subsystems.

Automotive engineers are involved in almost every aspect of designing cars and trucks, from the initial concepts right through to manufacturing them.

Automotive Technology deals with the study of both gasoline and diesel engine commercial vehicles, the fundamental concepts behind their operations, the physical features of machine parts and their relationship with various components, and the scientific procedures and techniques in handling and servicing all involved mechanism. It also deals with the basic management and entrepreneurship skills and knowledge that would put back management capability into the automotive service industry operation.

The Automotive Technician
The Automotive Technician is one who is involved in assembly, operation, performance testing, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance operation and use of all kinds of automotive equipment machine tools and quality control. He can either be an auto diesel mechanic, automotive electrician, power train and underchasis mechanic or an auto body repairman.

What is the difference between a mechanical engineer 1 and 2?

A level 1 engineer would usually be a starting position right out of college with a bachelors degree. A level 2 engineering would usually have a few years of experience too. Sometimes, just having a graduate degree is enough to start off as a level 2 engineer, but that is by no means certain.

What is the difference between automobile and mechanical?

Automobile engineering is a branch of Mechanical engineering, where you'll deal mostly with automobile, whereas in Mechanicalengineering, you'll deal with all machines and its design and then many more basics. But literally both are same, no big difference. ... Even some automobile companies prefer Mech.

What do automotive and mechanical engineers do?

Most automotive engineers are mechanical, but many mechanical engineers are not automotive: they may work on airplane engines, heating/cooling systems, manufacturing equipment for any kind of appliances, hydraulics in non-automotive machinery, mechanics of specialized materials.

Automotive engineers work specifically on the design of some aspect of road vehicles.

What is the difference between mechanical and automobile engineering?

Automobile engineering is a sub branch of mechanical engineering, though it is studied as main branch in some engineering colleges.Difference according to studyIn mechamical engineering you will learn every mechanical object or machines out there in the world. You will have more generalised subjects like theory of machines, dynamics and kinetics of machines etc. In short, you will have machine oriented problems. While in Automobile engineering you will learn Automobile IC engines, Vehicle Dynamics, Vehicle kinematics, etc, thus having more automotive oriented approach.Difference according to career opportunitiesYou can get job more easily with degree of Mechanical engineer than Automobile engineer. Truth being that every firm prefers mechanical Er. over Automobile Er. Even some automobile companies prefer Mech. Er.If you are looking for masters in Automobile engineering than this can be good option.

What is automotive engineering?

Its what i want to do for a living...it is basically desiging the different cars/components of the car and engineering it to work together. It involves a LOT of math and figuring out how to make evrything work the way it is supposte to. It looks like a really fun career.
