Why can men use misandry to mean being prejudiced against men but?
I think a lot of women are much too cautious about using it, and the men here like to micromanage what women say, so a lot of women have to think 4 times before saying what they want to say, because they'll definitely be criticized for speaking out about a problem. Sanscorpus (aka DICK) preaches misogyny ALL the time, most of the women hate his misogyny, yet they have never really labelled his views and opinions as such. I call views and opinions which foster hatred towards women misogynistic. Edit: I call plastic surgery and putting on beauty products a product of a misogynistic culture because it harms women physically. Women are pressured to conforming to what is perfect in men's eyes, and if it means mutilating their own bodies, they'd actually do that.
Seriously, how can the anti-feminists claim that they're handsome studs when they say feminists are ugly?
Stoning, well, it isnt always directed asserted, but such statements are pretty frequent in this section. That aside, the constant claim that one group that you oppose is unsavory should also apply to those in groups such as MRA Or is there a different set of rules and standards?
Where does feminism stop and misandry begin?
Which dividing line do you mean, exactly? Because there are a few, after all.The clearest is the one that operates in reality. Feminism is the fight to achieve gender equality by claiming the privileges in society that men have always had for women, too. It's no more hateful than a teenager going off to college or a country abolishing slavery. That's not to say there isn't ever hate involved. Many women have been horribly mistreated by the men in their lives (and then blamed for it!), and may take a dim view of men. And hating specific men (or women) who are horrible is just human. But from a faux-literary perspective, there's nothing hateful about wanting the stories of the supporting characters get told, too, or pushing an author to do so; for thousands of years, we've mostly told the stories where men were allowed to be the protagonists, and that's no longer acceptable in this "market."However, there's another line in emotion, and that line is fear. Anything that's part of your environment is normal, rarely questioned. But changes are troubling. So, you'll hear a lot of people oppose feminism on grounds like "legal equality is great, but requiring consent before having sex or not being allowed to tell women what they should think!?" They imply that it hurts them to adapt to change, and that it can only be out of hate that women might want these things. You'll see that a lot. Feminism embracing the LGBT community makes them "hateful" to religious people who hate gays. Pushing for women to not be insulted (or attacked) for where they are and how they're dressed is hateful to partiers and the usual assortment of "right-thinking" people. Women who keep their family name after getting married must hate their husbands. And so on, endlessly. The interesting thing about this--and the reason I made the point that whatever's in your environment is normal--is that, a couple of generations ago, the lines were "letting women vote was great, but overall legal equality?" And before that, suffrage could only be out of spite, and so on through history, which goes to show how enlightened that argument actually is...
Does misandry even exist?
I have come to see the word “misandry” as a euphemism for feminism, and “misandrist” as a euphemism for feminist, rather than anything that actually exists in real life, to any troubling degree, or in any meaningful way. while anti-feminists and misogynists bandy the terms about with glee, in reality, its just another flaccid jab at feminism, and feminists, by privileged men whose perverse denial of reality leads them to believe (or pretend to believe) that they are on the receiving end of institutional sexism as much as they benefit from it.
Why is Quora so misandrist?
It definitely is.1. Quora is dominated by overzealous feminists and progressives. Not to say it's a bad thing to follow those ideologies, but it's borderline fascism to suppress people who don't agree with you. But extremism has made these people so narrow-minded that they can't think from a slightly different angle. For instance, every Dating and Relationships questions related to break up will have a bias towards women. It's like "she's perfect, you need to change". Without fail.Girl cheats- you need to grow some balls and get over it.Dude cheats (or is rude to the girl): He is an asshole. Dump him. (Oh these men!)Dude is single: Because you don't respect women, you are an asshole.Girl is single: It's her fucking choice, and she doesn't trust men.Are males really necessary? by Charles Faraone on The Fourth Wave(Really? Are females really necessary. Are feminists even tolerable? )These people are very hilarious. Rhetoric and sarcasm plus the upvote-downvote army makes this echo-bubble hell for open-minded people. For instance people who write bluntly about both men and women are often called misogynists. Not misandrists. Women being racist is perfectly okay.Men being jokingly sexist is a huge deal. Fucking hypocrites.2. Successful people:Successful is clearly an obscure term, but most people on Quora are on the higher rung. They get easy respect, especially from Indian people(esp. from women, if they are white), who form majority of Quora. Consequently, they have this incredible sense of self-righteousness. Owing to their social circles most of them are feminists. And it's quite impossible for them to see beyond that wall.I never see an open discussion on race and racism. I have seen people of all races DISCARD racism. I can only expect them to discard misandry. Well, I am starting this small fight against them. Let's see how far it gets before Quora bans me.Yeah, bring in your sarcasm, I like those.
