In short, the reason why it has such a long chemical name is because it is a very big and very complex molecule. Every bit of it has to be named and all the bits attached to the main structure have to be named as well in the full systamatic chemical name. You can appreciate it if you imagine all the bits of a car labelled the same way. eg left headlamp bulb- left headlight-front bonnet- right headlamp bulb- right headlight - front bonnet - wheel nut 4 - left front wheel- left axle etc I think that's enough to get the idea .. by the time you name every bit, down to the smallest screw and its exact position, you'd have an extremely long name.
