What do people do when life gives them ‘lemons’?
13th June, 2000 was the date when I lost my father. I was at the age of 6 and my elder brother was 11 years old. (my father, me, mummy and my elder brother in 1995)After that tragedy, my mother joined a primary school (which paid ₹ 400) and started giving some individual tuitions to kids for which she had to walk a mile or two for each tuition and the school too. My elder brother had to leave his CBSE English medium schooling and admitted in a Hindi medium school because my mummy's earning was hardly ₹ 1200 per month under which she had to pay house's rent (₹ 400) too. She was a single mother working 9-10 hours per day and doing all household works as well.We used to live in a room of asbestos which leaked water during rainy season, got extremely cold in winters and almost burnt during summers. We hardly got all the three meals any day till 2005 when my elder brother passed his 10th board and started giving tuitions. Then, we had 2 out of 3 earning members in the family, and slowly and gradually our financial conditions started becoming well enough to manage all the three meals of the day.(Then, in 2005)(Now, in 2016) Now, my elder brother is working as a government employee on the post of Administrative Officer in UIICL, me studying MSc in Mathematics from a renowned college and my mummy is spending her best times in her life, relaxing after 15 years of struggle, suffering and sacrifice.(My Mummy)That's what she did when life gave her sourest lemon.EDIT: Thanks a lot to all for your priceless response, love, appreciation and wishes for my mummy and my family.
