Why doesn't Britney Spears sing songs like "Everytime" anymore?
She just had to keep up with how popular music was changing. But I agree, Baby One More Time IMO is one of the best bubblegum pop songs ever made. Dance/club music has been so popular during the mid-late 2000s so that's why she was making songs like that. But I have a feeling the bubblegum will be making a comeback with boy bands starting to come back (One Direction, The Wanted) I think teen pop is approaching another big comeback. Cher Lloyd's song Want U Back kind of reminds me of Mandy Moore's song Candy from 1999. So I think that sort of thing will start to be popular again. And I can't wait :)

Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah!#1 ...Baby One More Time (Oct. 1998)The first and obvious choice, complete with ellipsis and all. If you didn't know Britney before, you did then. This is a live version by Scottish emo-rockers Travis that they released on the UK single of "Turn" in Nov. 1999. It's one of the earliest covers and it got me to reconsider the song.#2 Oops!... I Did It Again (Mar. 2000)Yes she did. Though it's fun in its own right, it does sound a lot like her first single, doesn't it? Folk-rock veteran Richard Thompson even commented on the medieval chord sequence on his live album 1000 Years of Popular Music (2003).#3 Overprotected (Dec. 2001)Third song in a row credited to Max Martin. The guy was unstoppable. American singer/songwriter Joan As Police Woman (who also made a messed up version of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean") covered this on her album titled, well, Cover (2009).#4 Toxic (Jan. 2004)Diamonds are a girl-who's-not-yet-a-woman's best friend in the accompanying controversial video that I won't show here. Shakira or Britney Spears?
R U serious? U R comparing Shakira, one of the greatest crossover artists in history to britney spears???????? I'm confused. Shakira is soooooo much more real, can accually sing, is a great bellydancer, has her own charity orgonazation, has an amazing body, has an IQ of 140, and knows how 2 speak 5 five languages. (spansih, arabic, english, portugese, and itallian.) So maybe some people used 2 like britneys voice and thought she was hot, but the very image of her makes me gag.

What great hit song did you once love but can no longer listen to because it reminds you of a bad time?
(This is a strangely specific question that I actually have a strange and specific answer to.)For the sake of context, when I was about 10 I discovered Britney Spears, and fell in love with the song 'Baby One More Time'.During that time I had many pets, but there was one goat that had been with me for a long time, and one day she suddenly fell ill for no reason. And because in our country goats weren't a widely kept pet, we couldn't find a veterinarian who could diagnose her. It happened over perhaps 2 days maximum, she fell ill - we brought over as many vets as we could find. In the end my dad told me to let her rest for the night and maybe that would make her fell better. Thinking back now, I think he probably knew she wasn't going to make it.That night I listened to the song on repeat for hours on end. And when I was getting ready for bed I felt a sudden bout of worry, and went to check on her.From the distance between the house and her fence I saw her white stripe right behind the fence, as if she was reclining against it. I was first relieved, thinking that she managed to fall asleep and get some rest. But my rational side kicked in and I realized that it was probably the opposite. I walked over and pet her back and felt her stiff body under her fur.I didn't cry much. But I really regret the fact that I could have stayed with her and watched over her during the night, especially because all I was doing in the house was listened to some music and lazed around while she was probably in great pain right outside the door.Since then, whenever I listen to the song, I would always feel the tone very grim and some of the lyrics to me now gives a bleak and depressing connotation.

I was watching "Across the Universe" and "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" for like the 84th time already. And I suddenly remembered the first time I watched both movies. It was sometime around mid-July of 2008. It reminded me of the warm and long summer nights. Now that summer is around the corner for most; what movies and songs remind you of summer?
