Can a boxer beat a US Marine in a 1v1 fight?
Yes, most Marines can't fight well at all. 4 times when I was younger a guy would come back and try to beat up his high School bully after a year or two in the Marines . I watched them go 0–4 in these fights. In a shoot out it would be different. Military hand to hand is pretty awful. It is getting better since kids started going in with BJJ training and just manhandling the instructors. Now more realistic moves are being taught. However, how much time do they spend on hand to hand combat? Not much. Boxers train hours every week. An athletic guy with 3 years in an MMA class would destroy most special forces soldiers in a hand to hand fight. Spetsnaz , Russian special forces, brings in kickboxers during some of the training. I watched a Ukrainian kickboxer beat the shit out of 8 Spetsnaz soldiers in a row, it took maybe 2 minutes. I guess this is to toughen them up? They were doing their best to fight back and had no chance. It actually seemed pointless as I don't know what they learned from this. Maybe you can find the documentary online. Anyway Spetsnaz soldiers would crush our special forces in a fist fight because of the Sambo. Now there are guys like Tim Kennedy who also fight MMA along with being special forces. An average Marine has no chance against a competitive amateur boxer his size. A recon Marine with elite training can't beat a pro boxer in a fight without a surprise element. Like Boxer is talking and pow Marine kicks him in the nuts. Fight over. If you tried to knife hand a boxer they would move out of the way , hit you with a 2–3 and laugh. It's like traditional martial arts with the throat chop nonsense. Even a barfighter knows to tuck his chin and won't let you chop his throat. Military fighting prowess has become a myth like Kung Fu fighting. If a guy can beat you up after Marine training, he could probably beat you up when he went in. Watch the first few UFC events, there were 2 military hand to hand combat instructors that fought, both took horrible beatings.
