What Is The Name Of This Yoga/dance/excercise Move

Can we exercise (jogging/brisk walking/hula hoop/dance aerobic) during our menstrual period?

I feel better when I exercise, regardless whether it is during my time of the month or not. The first couple of days I stay away from a vigorous ab workout, but aerobics is a good way to work up a good sweat and feel better. Also, I have heard that in yoga, don't do the "upside down" moves durning that time. Otherwise, I say go for it!

The only time that I would say "Do not exercise," is if you are sick with a fever. But listen to your body. If you are tired and feel weak, then modify your exercise, or do a shortened set.

I am teaching myself this move, but I don't know what it's called:

What is the connection between yoga and dance?

They are both intentional movement practices where practice improves skills. I’m not sure about further connections although some dance moves may appear in Yoga practices and vice verse (have see that in Indian martial arts too).The big difference though is the intention as (in general) dance does not have the same goals of spiritual liberation as Yoga.

What are the basic exercises for makes dance steps clear and accurate?

There is nothing like specific exercise as such. All that matters as a good dancer is your ability to express your body according to the type of dance form you are performing. So your body needs to be fit enough to take that amount of exertion. So when you are warming up, make sure you do focus on your core strength and do sufficient amount of running. Another important aspect is stretching, before and after the practice you should stretch! It will help you to express your moves, will also help in defining your body language and ultimately a better dancer. So keep pushing your limits and raise the bar.

Can dancing get me flat abs?

well it depends on the exact dance move, some im sure can target the abs.
but the answer to your question is yes. not cause of direct stimulation of the abs, but because dance is a cardio workout. you will burn calories and fat because of this. everybody has abdominal muscles. some just have stronger and more visible abs than others because of having worked them out and having less body fat. the people who dont have great abs, dont work them out and also have fat covering them. do ab workouts and eat right and do cardio and those abs will start showing up. you have to combined all that cause if you just do ab work outs, you will just develop abs underneath your stomach fat. they will be strong, but just not visible

Which is better? Tae Bo, Pilates, Yoga, or belly dancing?

If you want to belly dance, I think you'll like the American Tribal Style of belly dance, since it it eclectic and includes Yoga and such. Rachel Brice is a great Tribal dancer. How to be more flexible/dance...like Shakira?

ok...so i luv shakira...she is my idol. i want to be like her. I have seen she is really flexible...like freaky flexible. I am very flexible and still young so i can get better. but how can i be shakira flexible? i am pretty flexible myself but i just want to be like her. I know i will need to work on it and need patience and practice. Is there any certain poses i can do to more flexible? I really want to be able to do those flex/yoga poses that freak people out. lol

As for the dance...shakira is also a really good dancer. she can belly dance and can really move her hips. I want to be able to do just that. If you have any dances i can work on or a video so i can learn to move my hips like that...that'd be great.
any help/advise would be great for either. or is you have something similar
