What Is The Need Of A President

Why do we need a president?

Because self governing with this many people probally wouldn't go over very well.

Is there really a need for a President in India?

Yes. As per the Constitution President is the government of India. PM and the council of ministers remain in office at his pleasure. They perform duties under his authority. Every order of Government of India is issued in his name. PM goes out of his office the moment he lose confidence of Loksabha. Presidents office never fall vacant. Only because of the President continuity of the government remain intact. President is a permanent post having tenor of 5 years. PM has no such job guarantee. That is why the President not PM Commands the arm forces. Only out of ignorance some people think that President of India is a rubber stamp . Parliamentary democracy can't work with out a Constitutional head. In UK it is Crown,in India it is President.

Why does India need a president?

The president as many misundertand it is a very important position in IndiaThe importance of our president can be understood in the following linesThe president is the Head of the Indian state furthermore he is not allied to any party so any advice he gives is from neutral stance .The presidents advice although has no legal binding still it is given great importance since it is from the Head of the nation. All bills initiated in the parliament must finally get his assent to become a law . The president may send it for reconsideration if he does not seen it fit or even delay it by pocketing. Even though he will have to give his assent the second time the bill is sent to him even in the unchanged form however that is rarely the case as presidents advice is given due weightage. He has the power to grant mercy on a mercy petition filed by a criminal to the extent that he can reduce a death penalty to that of life imprisonment and is not answerable to any one for that.He can issue ordinances for the period when the parliament is not in session .There work as temporary laws unless they are passed by the parliament in their next session. Also the president has massive powers during emergency. He can also dissolve the parliament in the advice of the prime minister. In States where there is a breakdown of constitutional machinery the presidents rule is imposed there and is coordinated threogh the governer. Finally the the prime minister , council of ministers ,cheif justice of india all take their oath before him which is again important as a superior post is required for this. Finally I would like to say that people make baseless claim without knowing the real reason why president does not have significant  powers. Because the president is an indirectly elected individual he has less power than the directly elected one that is our PM but that does not make the post useless . In fact no one in our country is almighty not the PM not even the SUPREME COURT . EVERYONE HAS BEEN KEPT IN THEIR OWN LEASH.AND WHY DO YOU THINK OF PRATIBHA PATIL WHEN YOU THINK OF PRESIDENT .THINK OF DR. RAJENDRA PRASAD OUR GREATEST PRESIDENT OUR EVEN THE GREAT KALAM. EVEN IF CURRENT PRESIDENT  PRANAB MUKHERJEE HAD MAINTAINED THE IGNITY OF THE POST UNLIKE SOME LIKE MADAM PATIL.

What kind of president does America need in 2020?

A liberal socialist Democrat, to restore all the Regulations that the Obama government placed on American business and industry.A liberal socialist Democrat, who will allow unfettered immigration to bring more and more illiterate and uneducated Moslems and other third world masses to your country. They after all, have a RIGHT to come to America!A liberal socialist Democrat who will disarm your people so that she can bring about a true Socialist America, with a weak military and much weakened police forces.A liberal socialist Democrat who will change America forever by encouraging whites to emigrate and leave the country so that black people may finally be free and rule your nation.A liberal socialist Democrat who will raise taxes on all white people and make them pay for all the wars they have caused and finally repay blacks for slavery times.A liberal socialist President such as Elizabeth Warren. THAT'S who you need to transform your country to a Progressive nation!

Why did India need vice-president?

Unlike USA Indian vice president’s powers are much restricted.Vice President in India has two important need,1).To fill the vacuum of absence of President because the government can’t function without the top executive which is the President and the post should never be left vacuum and filled as soon as possible hence we have vice president.2).Vice President is the defacto speaker of Rajya sabha and conducts it’s business.

What qualities does a president need to be a great president.?

Leadership ability (commander-in-chief of military)

Communication skills ( must address both the congress and American people)

Negotiating skills (with foreign nations)

Fiscal skills (submits a budget)

Skills necessary to identify and evaluate personnel. President appoints heads (Secretaries) of departments. Sec of State, Sec of defense. Also nominates Supreme Court justices.

Hospitality, etiquette or hosting skills. As President will host dinners, events with foreign leaders, and often, Royalty. Must know customs, proper protocol, etiquette, acceptable behavior.

Decision making (will make decisions on action, particularly in crisis which will effect future generations.)

Ability to create trust ( Any President who does not have the skill to create an atmosphere of trust, with the American people, and among foreign nations, especially allies, will have great difficulty trying to apply all skills listed above)

What experience do you need to qualify for being President?

As far as experience goes, the Constitution does not have any criteria. All three are equally “qualified” according to the letter of the law.

Any experience requirements are placed on the candidates by the citizenry and what they expect. Past experience is, after all, the best indicator of future performance. What kind of experience should we expect from a president? In my mind, an effective president needs to have experience dealing with a legislature, either as a congressman, senator, or governor. I would expect to see them having “real world” experience; run a company, a large foundation, or a military formation. Something that lets us know he or she has experience in forming teams, setting organizational goals, and dealing with personnel and budgets. I would also like to see other skills necessary for a good leader; oration, rhetoric, decision making, prioritization skills, and so forth.

The president himself does not do everything. He delegates it to his cabinet officers. Thus, delegation and the ability to choose good subordinates and advisers is key. And while a president does not need to be a subject matter expert in every field, he needs to have a good enough grasp so that he can notice his short comings and secure the expertise needed.

Based on the above, I find Obama lacking. Clinton is better, though think McCain is still better. Personally, due to the criteria I laid out above, you can see why I have a natural bias for governors and former governors. They have done almost all the tasks of a president, albeit on a smaller scale. They deal with legislatures, run multiple governmental agencies, exercise executive power, and so forth. But, you deal with the cast of characters you have, not the ones you want. So we are stuck picking between three senators.
