What Is The Next Thing I Should Upgrade In My Computer To Make It Run Games At A Higher Fps With A

What parts should I upgrade on my computer next?

You did not specify what you would be using the computer for, but I am guessing you are looking to play games. After selling your parts, you'll end up with around $650-$700.I would recommend an i5 6600k which is a good CPU for gaming and streaming plus moderate video editing, rendering, etc. If you are looking for a CPU that can handle more CPU intensive tasks, then an i7 4390k would work. However, the i5 6600k has worked very well for me and I am able to overclock it to 4.3 gHz without raising the voltage which means the CPU’s life is not reduced. For a GPU I would recommend the GTX 1060 6GB. This card can easily handle all games at 60+ fps on ultra at 1080p. If you're looking to game at 4K then I don't think your budget would allow for it at the moment.Good luck and have fun!

How should I upgrade my computer for better internet gaming?

Once your processor is over 2.4GHz (in old P4 terms), the biggest gaming factor becomes the video card. So in your case, that's the first thing I would look at upgrading.

Also, RAM is fairly cheap. Check to see if your system supports dual-channel memory and make sure you have it set that way if it does. Bump up the amount to 1GB as well if possible.

Besides upgrading RAM and the video card, there's nothing else I'd recommend changing. It would be more cost efficient to replace the PC with a new one before I'd recommend doing anything else. In fact, you might want to use that money now towards a new PC instead of wasting time/money on this one.

What determines fps in computer games?

The fps of your computer games is generally determined by what you just mentioned. Games with heavy AI or a lot of physics will be limited by your CPU, besides that almost every game is limited by your graphics card. Ram hardly ever limits a game, its so cheap to upgrade if you worry, but since most memory for a game is stored on your video ram for graphics you should be fine.

Now the complex part, since most games are limited by your graphics card, there is a complex interaction of what is inside your graphics card to determine the actual limits, generally one will end up limiting the rest however, graphics card manufacturers try to balance everything as much as they can.

Here are limiting factors inside a graphics card:

The clock speed of the memory.

The clock speed for the actual GPU core.

The clock speed for the shading processors.

The amount of shading processors.

The memory bus width.

The amount of video ram.

What computer part(s) should I upgrade and which is most needed?

I like the VRAM argument on here but the only way you can do that is by upgrading the Graphics card. One thing you can do is make sure the background tasks are at a minimum and the Game's Priority in Task Manager is set to Affinity.

Your situation doesn't follow the general upgrade rules of thumb because the first thing a person would do is upgrade the Graphics card if gaming performance is off. The catch here is your CPU is below the minimum requirements while your GPU is a little bit above the minimum requirements.

What you'd need to do in this situation is track your hardware resources while gaming, then upgrade the parts that are running at 100% while you're experiencing the FPS drops. Otherwise, The only thing you could do to remedy this situation is to drop the screen resolution to 1600x900 to see if that helps, as this will lessen the workload on the GPU and increase the workload of the CPU. If you still have significant FPS drops with dropping the screen resolution then the CPU is indeed the source of your problems.

How can I get The Sims 3 to run faster on my computer?

Here is a link to the diagram of the motherboard in your dell:

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/sy...

The only slots you would be able to insert a video card are the ones marked 13, the two white slots on the bottom of the diagram. However, they are PCI slots....

here is a link to some ok PCI cards: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/sy...

I would stick with nvidia's 7x00 or 8x00 series or the HD series from ATI..

but trust me, this won't help you much. your game will still run slow.

I seriously suggest you consider buying a new pc.

Good luck

What should I do after upgrading my RAM?

You may want to test the RAM, to be sure every single byte of it, does not have errors. A RAM test simply writes data to every bit of RAM, then reads from it to check that it is as expected. This will both test the RAM module and the connection to it (in case it was loose or some debris was trapped in between). To an extent it also tests the memory controller, which is usually in the CPU or processor. Sometimes errors can be intermittent, as in, they don’t show up right away, or the computer still boots up and seems to function even though the RAM is “weak”. A robust and stressful (but should not damage good RAM) test can help ensure you have a solid, stable, and reliable RAM so you can rely on it for years to come, without having undue crashes, data corruption, or other ills later on.Here is web page with some details:How to Test Your Computer’s RAM for ProblemsWell, another obvious thing is to check that all the RAM you added is configured as expected, i.e. none of it is missing. The RAM test will show the amount of memory present, so you can verify that.Another thing you could do is test the performance and stability at the same time. A performance test is designed to run the RAM at maximum throughput or bandwidth, so you can see how fast it goes. You might even have higher speed after the upgrade, so you want to verify that. A stress test does some vigorous computation using the RAM, any errors can also be detected, so it’s also like a RAM test (except it may not test every bit systematically, but at least you can know if it ran error free for a day, your RAM stability is probably pretty good too). Some links to RAM stress test and RAM performance test.RAM stress test? - [Solved] - Memory - Tom's HardwarePassMark Bandwidth Test - Memory Speed

What are some things to consider when upgrading my Graphics card and case for my computer?

For the card, consider your usage and your budget. If they don't match just save a little bit more and buy the thing you like. Graphic cards can be used for 3 years if you choose the correct one according to your needs. Also check if your psu has compatible power cords to put in your card and if you have enough juice to run it.For the case, choose if you want a silent case or a cool case. Because fans make noise, choosing the case should be the second thing to do, as you will have an estimate of how big a case you need after you buy your peripherals. Also check if its size matches where you wanna squeeze the bad boy.Hope this helps ☺

Does adding more RAM make your computer faster?

Basically adding more RAM makes your computer able to have more applications opened at the same time and helps to keep most important and most used data in RAM so the access times will be faster.ie. if an application needs 1Gb RAM to work and you have 4Gb it will not run faster if you add more RAM.ie.2 - You have 2Gb of RAM and chrome or firefox opened using nearly 1Gb, plus windows using about 700Mb (makes 1,7 of 2Gb being used) and you run an application that needs 2Gb it will run… but as there is no “enough RAM” to load all application content, the computer will be accessing you HDD to load the files that he cannot put into RAM. Of course access times of RAM are obviously faster so if you add more RAM in this case it will make the application faster giving you the idea that your computer is faster.Resume:if an application has enough free RAM to run, adding more will not make it faster.if an application needs more RAM than the current free RAM on your system, adding more will make that specific application faster.Adding more RAM will make you able to run multiple applications at the same time without kicking their performance. CPU will not be forced to access HDD every time it needs to load application data because RAM will have everything that CPU needs the most.

What should I upgrade in my PC if I want to run GTA 5 on medium settings?

First thing is first, that graphics card HAS to go, depending on the generation of your i3, the integrated graphics may as well be just as powerful or even faster (I mean probably not, assuming this is an older PC).I would go anywhere from a rx 460/560 to rx 470/570 or gtx1050 to gtx1050 ti, the rx470 and rx 570 are the more powerful cards but they do need a pci express power cable, if your psu has these you will be fine, if not, your psu might still be strong enough to push it through an adapter via molex power cables, this is unlikely though. If you really can't put in a 470, I hate to say that you will have to go for the 1050 ti, a great card nonetheless, but price to performance kinda goes out the window, but if you don't have the psu it's your best option. The CPU probably does need to be upgraded to really handle GTA well, as it's very CPU intensive, but it may do well.I think you should start with the graphics card first, then if it's till slow, look at ram usage, to see if you need to bump that up, and CPU usage, if the CPU usage while playin is pinned to 100% and the gpu isn't, you will definitely have to upgrade. Also keep in mind going to an i5 will use more power as well, so u may not be able to or have to upgrade the power supply regardless, if you do I would try to bump up the gpu to a rx580 and really do a big upgrade on the whole system if you have the money.
