Was Hitler's habit of wearing his cap visor low inspired by gangsters of the 1920s or vice versa?

What is your favorite hat?

I’m a bit of a hat fanatic, I have to admit. I love hats, and wear one pretty much daily. I even collect certain hats that I don’t wear, such as military helmets and officers’ visor caps. But of those hats I wear, my absolute favorites are fitted baseball caps - and I do mean actual “baseball” caps; i.e., those of the various major league and minor league baseball teams. I have dozens of those, some dating back a couple decades. (My oldest is an original Detroit Tigers “away” cap from the early 1970s with the large orange and white embroidered olde English “D” on it. Tigers fans will know the style I’m talking about.) I also like western/cowboy hats and have three of them, one in 5X beaver felt and two in straw, but I rarely wear those because I think I look a little bit dorky in them. (I guess I just don’t have a “cowboy hat kind of head.”) Knitted “slouchy” hats (a.k.a. “bag” hats) are a favorite also, as are traditional old-timey Irish caps. The Irish caps I have are made of 100% Irish wool and are handmade by the Hanna Hats Company of Donegal Town, Ireland. They’re beautifully made and really comfortable to wear, especially in cooler weather, and I think they’re classy looking as all get-out!

Do you like to wear hats?

I’ve always wanted to wear hats. I think they add just a little something extra to certain outfits. For example, something like this is really cute. And this too.(both pics from extrapetite.com)There’s just one problem. It’s the exact opposite of Jordan Yates’s problem. I have a really small head. And when I say small, I mean really small. In a statistics class I took with over 70 students, the professor had each person measure the circumference of his or her head. Then we made a giant histogram on the board that charted the size of everyone’s head.It looked like this except with 70+ sticky notes (and head size not height). On this giant histogram, guess who had the smallest head in the entire class?Yep, you guessed it! It was me.My lonesome sticky note was off by itself in the far left corner of the chart. If you look at the chart below, I would be on the bottom left corner. My head is in the smallest 1 percent of heads! Now, for my high school graduation, they only had one-size-fits-all graduation caps. The cap was so big on me that it kept falling off as I walked across the stage and I had to hold it on my head with one hand. It must have looked pretty funny!(Not me)This is what it looks like when I wear a hat in the winter. Yep, if I pulled it down it would cover my eyes! That weird shape is why I don’t wear hats if I can help it.(actually me)However, I do enjoy headbands!(also me)

Is your favorite hat a baseball cap, brimless or full-brim?

I had a hate/love relationship with hats. When I was a little kid, I absolutely hated wearing hats. I remember one hat my mother made me wear to school in the winter. You know the kind with the ear flaps that can be clipped up on top or let down to cover your ears?Well, she made me put that hat on and I lost it the first day on the way to school I know the exact bush that I lost it in too. LOLAfter I got older though I was in the army (artillery). There was no choice about wearing hats then. We had peaked hats to wear on parade with our dress uniforms. On the rifle range we had helmets we had to wear (the old British ‘Brodie’ style helmets. Very heavy.) But most of the time on duty we wore blacck berets.I came to appreciate the berets as being much more comfortable than the helmets and not nearly as hot as the peaked caps. But I still didn’t wear hats much.More years passed and now I find I like hats.I’ve possibly got 50 different hats for different purposes. When sailing in inclement weather I wear a baseball type hat to keep the rain off my glasses. If I’m going to a different yacht club I wear a cap with my own club’s crest on it, otherwise I wear one that announces what races I might have been in or just one that looks right with whatever else I’m wearing. On long races during hot, bright sunny days, I wear a wide-brimmed hat to keep the sun off my face. I sort of got tired of having sunburns, especially where my hair is getting a bit thinner with old age.In the winter I have a suede leather ‘Indiana Jones’ hat. It’s too hot for summer but looks good combined with a leather jacket.I’ve also got a very wide brimmed Tilly hat that’s great in the summer when it’s raining really hard. It keeps me nice and dry.Panama hats. A white(ish) fedora. A Russian style fur hat (that actually came from Russia). A smaller fake fur hat for dressy occasions. More baseball hats. Knit toques in various colours for the winter and for shovelling snow. Maybe even more than 50 hats now that I think about it.But a favourite? No, not really. Each type, colour or marking on a hat have different reasons and so each one is a ‘favourite’ at a different time for whatever purpose it’s best suited to.

What are these kinds of hat/caps called?

It's a FLEECE HAT.Likes of these I believe:Fleece hats are the softest due to the fabric itself. It comes from the wool of a sheep, or similar animal. It has deep, soft piles that make it feel luxurious against the skin. Fleece hats come in many styles, including trapper, snowboard, hood scarf, half-face mask, and hoods. People of all ages have many options from colors and designs, including black, white, pastels, Disney characters, and animal prints. While these hats range in price, the majority of them fall within the mid-level price range.
