Which factors shape East Asia's climates?

South East Asia has two major factors.... Summer Monsoon (Southwest Monsoon, wet) and the Winter Monsoon (Northeast Monsoon, dry).

East Asia's major factor is the location of the Polar Front. This is a semi-permanent feature that separates warm/moist air (Maritime/Tropical) on the equatorward side from cool/dry air (Continental/Polar) on the poleward side. Additionally, there are warm ocean currents that move poleward along the coast of China and Japan. This greatly moderates winter temperatures along the coast much as The Gulf Stream does along the East Coast of the United States.

Why is South Asia much more successful than Southeast Asia?

Well the simple answer is that South Asia is not more sucessful than S.E Asia by any other measure than pure volumes. The per capita incomes are higher in South East Asia, there are less people in poverty and absolute poverty by UN and world bank metrics. A greater percentage of South East Asians have access to power, water, healthcare and education. There hasnt been a war since 1979. Less people have dies in war, sectarian conflict and famine in SE Asia since 1947 than South Asia. The banking system is in better shape in SE Asia there is less pollution, less corruption and there is less of a problem with the status of women and the termination of female foetus`s or bride/dowry violence.Cross boarder trade is even some times easier withinn ASEAN than it is between Indian States.SE Asia is better integrated into the world economy than South Asia.South Asia is modelling the SAARC on ASEAN.Ask your self would you rather be born a poor female in urban or rural South Asia or S. E Asia in May 2017?Would you rather be a religous minority in SE Asia or South Asia in 2017?Where would you chose to live for life/ air quality, Bangkok, K.L. Singapore, Bandar, Phnom Penh or Delhi Dakar Karachi Katmandu Chanii

Why Indonesia has the most number of volcanoes in Southeast Asia.?

First of all, Indonesia is the largest country in Southeast Asia. Second, there are a bunch of major fault lines crossing Indonesia - this basically means that big chunks of the Earth's crust are moving around and hitting one another. This has various effects, and one of them is to create mountains. The Earth has layers to it, and when the top layers move enough, magma, which is called lava when it reaches the surface, comes up from a deeper layer. The magma and the mountains make volcanoes, and since Indonesia has a lot of the right factors to create volcanoes, it has a lot of them.

Why do Southeast Asian have big, flat, wide noses while East Asians don't?

What benefits did colonial rule bring to Southeast Asia?

For Singapore.Because of Raffles, more and more people know about Singapore. And then it became a very busy port. .While, people maybe do migrate to Temasek (Singapore former name) even before colonial time, but colonial time did actually entice more people from other country to come to Singapore and of course there are many from Fujian province. That why most Singaporean chinese are of Fujian descent. So this has accidentally, cause different races to mix with each other or be more aware of the existenceMore modern structure start to appear, example the old parliament house, fort canning area and there were many other old colonial houses still in Singapore.Colonial rules have also help SG to set up laws and regulation. Thomas Dunman was the first Police Commissioner from 1856 to 1871.How relevant is it to modern Singapore like now? Many of our law is still base on British set of law but its changing gradually but British law was the fundamental, our education system is still very much incline towards the UK. Cambridge O’Level examination is still very much relevant and A’level depend on the individual student choice of education route after O Level.I think it is not fair to say oversea all colonial ruling bring to us. This is because many countries are different. And during this decades, many thing change. And there were also different colonial master in the different region. But I do believe if in general, I believe colonialism did help to bring in different culture, business and fundamental mindset for the different country in South East Asia.

Why Vietnam is called Tiny Dragon of Southeast Asia?

There are two possible reasons.

Depending on who you ask, the shape of Vietnam looks either like a fish or a dragon. The head (be it a dragon or fish) is the South where Saigon is and the tail in the North where Ha Noi is.

Another reason could be that tiny dragon is an accurate description of the people and the country. Vietnam is a small country that has fiercely defended itself for over a thousand years against several countries that are much larger.
