What is the English translation of the Hindi word "jugaad"?

“Jugaad” is a Hindi word, widely used by people in India and those of Indian origin. It has varying meanings, based on the situation and context in which it is used. The following are the situations in which Jugaad is used:It represents an improvised arrangement or work around, performed in the absence of sufficient resources. It applies to a creative or innovative idea that provides a quick alternative way of fixing or solving a problem. It may be an idea from which a person can control his or her budget. It is commonly used, while describing a workaround to get through logistical, commercial or legal issues. It has become a movement of Indian creativity that focuses on finding cost-effective ways to solve the issues arising on a day-to-day basis. It also represents the indigenously made motor vehicle that attaches engines with the innovative carts made locally and used for low cost transportation in rural places.Jugaad, by itself, is a science, art, tradition and philosophy. The people, generally, combine their mother tongue while talking in other languages. Similarly, when one talks in English, for instance, with a person who knows Hindi, he may express the following sentence:“I somehow want to see this movie this evening; but, I do not have a ticket. Please do some ‘jugaad’.

What tv brand is better Sony or LG?

I think both the TV's you have mentioned here are a very tight rivals and I presume this UH8500 will be costlier than X850.Coming to the picture quality, usually Sony and Samsung make fantastic displays for years and after LG introduced OLED, OLED seems much better than LED in many ways.Coming to the original question, even though UH8500 is an LED, the picture quality is in the same ball park of X850 or can even be claimed so slightly better than X850. It might not be noticeable at all. But, X850 has slightly better contrast, black levels and gray levels than UH8500 that too wouldn't be noticeable much. The LG looks better before colour calibration. But, slight white balance calibration on Sony made very much better and I'd rate the same score for both TVs.If you have plans to watch 3D Blurays or 3D content, only UH8500 has . so, ultimately LG is the winner here.If you are a sports fan, Sony comes just above LG. Motion blur, fast action sports is just better. It doesn't mean LG is so bad. It's just slightly behind. For sports and action, I'd choose Sony.Usually Sony TV's have less input lag making FPS gaming a lot more better. But,Here, Sony is 34.6 ms at 1080p 60 hzBut, LG is 26.9 ms at 1080p 60 Hz.So, the winner is LG here.Native Speakers : Sony speakers lacked bass and distorting at higher volumes than LG did.LG is better with the native speakers. When it comes to software, LG has Web OS 3.0 and Sony has Android.Even though Android has more apps than web OS apps in the library, web OS has enough usable apps and seems more fluid than the Android.LG wins here.TV's Looks are subjective and I feel the glassy edges and stainless steel stand of LG looks more premium than X850.LG wins again. Conclusion :I've not covered about the input ports here. I'm sure there are enough in both the TV's. It seems like LG is the clear winner here. But, it doesn't paint the whole picture here. The most most important aspect is the price difference. Is that extra money worth for the slightest improvement in performance in certain departments and Looks. That's upto you.To easily sum up, if you watch 3D and play serious games on consoles and can afford that extra, LG is the way to go.If you don't watch 3D at all and don't play console games, you'll be pretty happy with the Sony and you can save some money too. Mind it, 36ms is also not bad for console games.

Why are TVs more expensive in India?

Because in India we can see new episodes of world famous TV shows like Mata Ki Chowki and Saravanan Meenatchi everyday on TV. In USA,No torrents. To watch a current TV show, you need a netflix subscription. Plus you have to wait for a week to watch a new episode. For us Indians, money is not a problem. It’s the feel we get when we watch mind boggling TV series like Roadies.Plus, why would your boss buy a TV in USA? You don't have Aditya or Sirippoli. What is the purpose of buying a TV, if you cannot watch SonyMIX or JayaMAX?If your boss is gonna buy a TV in USA and then bring it to India, then he will end up paying custom duty for importing TV. If you avail a Transfer of Residence when you move to India permanently after living in USA for a few years, you can bring a TV by paying 15% customs duty. If you bring more than 1 TV, each additional TV is charged at 30% customs duty. When you bring TV from USA to India, the customs duty is charged based on the price of the equivalent models in India. Certain models which are relatively expensive in USA may be cheaper in India. For example, Samsung TVs are usually more expensive in USA than SONY. SONY is more expensive than Samsung in India. So, if you bring a SONY TV from USA to India, you will end up paying a higher customer duty since they are more expensive here. And then there's the NTSC and PAL issue. The transmission in India uses video standard called "PAL". The standard in USA is different and is called "NTSC". Most TVs made in USA will support only NTSC format. There are very few TV models that support both NTSC and PAL in USA, however, they are hard to locate. Most TV manufacturers do not publish their dual mode support. Even if you go through all the specification, you may not be able to find if a TV purchased in USA has support for NTSC system. If you are planning to bring a TV from USA to India, make sure you carry a PAL to NTSC converter, which can be used to convert the PAL transmission in India to NTSC format.Alternatively, you can look for TVs that support both PAL and NTSC, even though they are rare in USA.If your boss still doesn't want to buy a TV in India, then he must really love his wife.P.S: This is my first 16 Mark answer. Apologies.

How many amps does a TV use? What factors affect that number?

A large screen TV, of 50 or more diagonal display inches can use around 200 W. That would work out to about 1.6 Amps at 120V or 0.8A at 240V.But there will be a large variation among different manufacturers and within a manufacturers range of  models of differing age it may vary greatly with more or less features, display sizes, brightness settings and improved display technology and higher integration of features. For a more accurate answer you will have to specify a model, year and make and the answer will be found in the manufacturers specifications which can often be found on the internet.
