What is the value of an Abraham Lincoln gold 1 dollar coin? How rare are they?

Whenever your run across these “gold” coins with a President on the front and it has two dates. it’s a modern “Presidential” dollar. (HINT: The real date is on the edge of the coin.)Presidential $1 Coin ProgramThese coins are the same composition as the Sacajawea and Native American dollar coins. From the US Mint website:The coins’ physical makeup is a three-layer clad construction - pure copper sandwiched between and metallurgically bonded to outer layers of manganese brass. Four different designs were issued per year, until they got to Reagan. Since no living President can be on a circulating US coin, Carter was skipped. All the presidents after Reagan are still alive, so the series ended with him.NOTE:Since this question gets asked a lot, I am going to put the entire list in this post, and hope that someone searches Quora in the future before asking about it.Presidential $1 Coins2007George Washington (1789-1797)John Adams (1797-1801)Thomas Jefferson (1801-1809)James Madison (1809-1817)2008James Monroe (1817-1825)John Quincy Adams (1825-1829)Andrew Jackson (1829-1837)Martin Van Buren (1837-1841)2009William Henry Harrison (1841)John Tyler (1841-1845)James K. What is the value of 1901-1909 Throdore Roosevelt coins?

I found some silver coins in the cherry auction. I noticed the coins are spelled different from "Theodore Roosevelt", instead the coins say "Throdore". I haven't been able to find the value of these coins or the history of them. If anyone can tell me, I'd appreciate it

What is a "Throdore Roosevelt" coin worth? It is suppose to say Theodore Roosevelt. It is dollar size.

The first possibility that came to mind was that this may be a "So-Called Dollar." These are roughly dollar-sized medals commemorating various events that were privately minted during the 1800s and 1900s.

There is a website devoted to these So-Called Dollars, mirroring the standard book on this topic by Hibler and Kappen. However, from a quick check of that site, I came across only one so-called dollar bearing President Theodore Roosevelt's name; that one was minted for the Louisiana Purchase Exhibition in 1904:

Also, So-Called Dollars can't, by definition, be purely "presidential": they have to be associated with some particular event.

Therefore, another possibility - and a more likely one - is that this is simply a medal commemorating President Theodore Roosevelt, listing the start and end dates of his two terms in office.

There have been some official or privately issued medals, or other "exonumia" (non-coin items of interest to coin collectors), connected with nearly every (or all?) US President. These range from the formality of medals struck by official US Mints to the aluminum "Mr. President" game pieces issued by Shell Oil in the 1960s.

Is this 'coin' or medal still listed in that Bulgarian or Russian auction site? I didn't readily find it there.

If not, can you put up a photo or two - such as a snapshot with a digital camera or cell phone camera - at a URL where those of us who may wish to answer this question can see it? There are lots of free sites where you can post photos, if you don't already have a convenient place to put them; flickr.com comes immediately to mind.

Coins: What are the significant differences between the Morgan Silver Dollar and the Peace Silver Dollar?

From a silver standpoint, the two coins are exactly the same. Allowing for wear you are looking at .7732 ounces per coin. From a demand and value standpoint, it gets much more complicated. For starters, let’s talk solely about circulated Morgan dollars with no numismatic value. At the wholesale level, this category is broken into two segments. Those with a date of 1921, and those with previous dates. 1921 was the last year the Morgans were made, and there is a TON of them out there. They are simply less desirable with everyone for that reason.Let’s continue looking at Morgan’s and go to mint marks. You can have a fairly common date coin without a mint mark and it might be worth $20. If you take that same coin and find a mint mark of CC for Carson City, then the value goes to about $200.The Morgan dollars are full of little things like this that makes a huge difference in the price. Peace dollars are much more common and not as desirable. That said, there is a floor in regards to price. It doesn’t matter what the market price of silver does, you will almost never find the coins for less than $15–20.
