Which is tougher to pass, SRM University or IIT Madras?
IIT Madras would be tougher to pass. However, let us see in some details both the IIT Madras and SRM University.Indian Institute of Technology Madras is located in Chennai, Tamilnadu, and is recognised as an Institute of National Importance. Founded in 1959 with technical and financial assistance from the former government of West Germany. it was the third IIT that was established by the Government of India.SRM Institute of Science and Technology, or Sri Ramaswamy Memorial Institute of Science and Technology, formerly SRM University, is a deemed university located in Chennai, Tamilnadu. It was founded in 1985 as SRM Engineering College under University of Madras. It has 8 campuses. The institute gained deemed status during the 2003-2004 academic year and was renamed SRM Institute of Science and Technology. It became SRM University in 2006 following the permission by the UGC for Deemed to be Universities to be called as Universities. In 2017 it was renamed back as SRM Institute of Science and Technology following the UGC request to drop the "University" from the name.IIT Madras is under control of the Government of India and therefore have strict rules for grade. Depending on the course the evaluation is based on participation in class, attendance, quiz, exam and/or paper. Continuous evaluation is done by course instructors.IIT Madras would be tougher as u have to be continuously alert, and study on a daily basis.
What is your review of SRM University?
I’ll go anonymous for personal reasons. This is a completely honest from the heart kind of an opinion and I’ll keep it as short as possible. This is about SRM Kattankulathur(and is probably the only SRM even worth writing a review about).As an engineering college, the number of opportunities you get to prove yourself is extremely high. Don’t expect much from the faculty members but you can get amazing funding for all your ideas and you can even start your own clubs and can make a name for yourself. The campus is amazing and there are floor canteens,ACs in each class room etc. The size of the campus is mammoth. You can even make it to MITs if you are dedicated enough and can devote yourself without diversions.But, what ruins it all is SRM itself. They are GREEDY AS FUCK! They cannot limit their intake. They have to have 30,000 good for nothings in the campus. They have to SELL THEIR SEATS. The seats sold is close to 70%. That ruins EVERYTHING.And the result? Mediocrity or even worse. What’s the point in teaching Machine Learning to folks whose only aim in life is to get laid or get a girlfriend? Yes, that’s 80%% of the crowd you meet here. And as you can guess, those folks have made it here by buying seats using their Baap ka paisa. Their new semester’s resolution is not to improve their GPA by studying hard but by improving their malpractice skills. The Telugu crowd is probably the worst(though there are genuine exceptions). The North Indians are the better lot(though again there are exceptions).You don’t need to have be a nerd, but at least maintain some standards close to the alumni produced by other universities.SRM University is the most depressing university one can be in if one’s got any sort of ambitions in engineering. If you haven’t made it to IITs/NITs/BITs stay clear out of such universities. It’s better to join some third grade university and stay in your home town. It’s unimaginably hard working on yourself if you cannot find a single soul who is half as like minded as you are.If you are like the other good for nothings as mentioned above, this place is your heaven. Go ahead! Buy your seat right now. You are a very crucial asset for the university to maintain its TIMES NO. 1 RANKING. Hurry up! The prices tend to increase after a while.Conclusion: SRM University can be a way better university and can even match the standards produced by IITs if it stops being such a prostitute.Adios.
What are the total fees of SRM University for 4 years for a B.Tech?
It is not constant and changes every year and increased to the needs of the university wanting to take movies and for other businesses. Totally it will amount to 20 lakhs without hidden costs such as compulsory participation in AARUSH, Milan, Electra, etc. If you are a girl you may have to pay for fashion shows.Tuition Fees - 1.85 lacs per year.Books Fees - 15 thousand, which just included 6–7 third class quality books, and a drafter and a cheap geometry box, which broke in the first 2 months of usage. We didn’t get the drafter and the geometry box in the 2nd year. For the past two years no books are issued, but fees are collected.CDC Fees - Another 15 thousand, which included only 2 books of Quantitative Aptitude and 1 book on Verbal AptitudeHostel And Mess Fees - Approximately 4 lakhs for four years. A room which was meant for 2 people previously had started accommodating 3 peopleLaundry Fees - 5/6 thousand (can’t remember it exactly). It was also compulsory, and we were not allowed to give more that 14 clothes in a week, which included only 1 bed sheet. If clothes were extremely, dirty, they would return them without even washing. Many a times clothes were misplaced.Examination Fees - Approximately 4 thousand. This is to be paid before every semester exam.Now the hefty fines.ID Card Lost - 1500. By making a DD, they won’t even accept cash.Renewal of ID Card - 1000. Same processExam Admit Card Lost - 760

hello, i got 61124 in VITEEE 2014 and yet i've been called for counseling on 5th day while in SRMEE i got 6446 rank and called for 2nd day counseling..i want to take ECE or EEE, branch. where should i go for counseling as the dates are clashing????would i get @vit without any donation???r both the campuses in SRM equally good? thankss!!!

Is it worth joining CSE in SRM?
Is it worth or not depends on your requirement.Srm provide many facilities and the companies for Cse are also high.This year many students from cse got placed in companies with salary higher than 8lpa. Yes fee is quite high but if you are good in programming and don't wanna take a drop year(dont take gap in studies as many companies are there who can reject you on that basis alone) then you can join.And since you are from delhi you can apply in ipu colleges.There ate many good cs college like msit,agarsain etc.
Which is better, UPTU or SRM?
How was your SRMJEEE? Is it easier than JEE Main and what is the format?It's damn easy don't worry if you know the concepts, you're going to crack it.The pattern is like the max. time is 2 hours and 30 mins.You must have opted PCM as your subject so the paper is gonna be such like- Physics : 35 questions for 105 marks.Chemistry : 35 questions for 105 marks.Mathematics : 35 questions for 105 marks.if it is PCB, then Physics and Chemistry is same but for Biology : 50 questions for 105 marks.Total Marks : 315Total Questions : 105There is -ve marking in SRMJEEE. 1 mark is deducted from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, if the answer is wrong and 0.7 in Biology(Quite Not Sure about this thing).My personal advice to you is that start the paper with Physics. Trust me that's gonna be the most easiest part of the paper.CSE in SRM is worth but it's very costly around of 22Lakhs. :)GOOD LUCK.
How good are VIT and SRM? And how many students from these universities go to top schools abroad for Masters?
I am currently in my 2nd year at DTU and have researched quite a lot on all Indian universities. While everyone who has answered this question are from SRM and VIT are speaking about their infrastructure and college life, and I guess only these two factors are good here and this category is why their ranking somehow improves, but ask yourself do they matter in the long run?Apart from top 15 universities in India which include old 7 IIT's , BITS pilani, IIITH ,DTU,NSIT,TOP 3 NITs placements and further studies at world's top school is bad at these colleges. You can check the stats anywhere , only 1 or 2 brilliant guys who work very hard somehow manage to get placements of around 15 lpa which is common at the top 15.MY SINCERE ADVISE TO YOU IS STUDY HARD AND SECURE A PLACE IN THE TOP 15 AND IF YOU DONT HAVE ANY OTHER OPTION THEN ONLY OPT FOR THESE.
