What Is The Weight Limit On The Blood Pressure Machine At Walmart

I went to walmart and there's this blood pressure and bmi/weight scale..?

I went to walmart and there is this blood pressure monitor and weight scale. I have a scale at my house saying I weigh 169 but then I went to the scale at walmart and it said I weigh 180. I've been losing weight but is the walmart scale accurate? Because I know I don't weigh 180.

146/74 62 yrs woman what do i do? Just found out at Walmart blood pressure machine.?

I am out of state visiting..went to Walmart tested blood pressure for fun..it is 146/74. Its never been high before. I am 62 white woman..115#..no smoking..healthy eater. What do i do until i can get back home to my doctor? I think it is genetic..my mom had high BP.

Are the blood pressure machines in walmart accurate?

Yes, they are calibrated, however it's better that a doctor or RN checks the instrument too.
Although the figures are high might be your technique is wrong. So better have it checked out by a doctor or nurse or ER, OK.

Do walmart vision center eye doctors take your blood pressure?

In the definition of "standard of care" for any optometrist (no matter where they work), it is NOT standard of care to take your patient's blood pressure.

However, many optometrists DO take blood pressure because it is quick, easy, and helps to gauge your overall health. But it is not considered a required standard of care. Best thing would be to call the clinic you are going to and ask them if they take blood pressure. That will answer your question the best.

This does not sound like a corneal ulcer. Why? Because if it really was, I doubt you would be asking us on the computer and you would already have yourself to the ER. They are extremely extremely painful.

There are lots of things that can cause or be a "white spot" on your eye, but this mostly just sounds like you somehow got something in your eye while you were sleeping. I would get some over-the-counter lubricating artificial tears such as Blink, Refresh, Systane, or Optiv. Do NOT get Visine, as that will not help you. You can use the artificial tears as much as you want. If the pain or spot doesn't go away by tomorrow morning, then go see the eye doctor.

Plus, a corneal ulcer doesn't magically form during a 2 hour nap. You probably just got something in your eye - that's the only thing that could magically appear in 2 hours.

ADD:
It is standard of care for an eye doctor to take your intraocular pressure or IOP (that's the pressure inside your eye). So if you even have an eye exam and you do NOT get your eye pressure checked, I would recommend going to a new eye doctor because it is one of the key features of our standard of care.

Well if you are really worried about this spot, there is no sense complaining about it on Yahoo Answers because none of us can examine your eye and see 1) the location 2) how deep it is 3) how much redness there is and 4) other things affected.

If you are worried about the spot and if it is bothering you, go see an eye doctor right now or first thing in the morning. I can't tell you what it may be because there are too many possibilities without me actually seeing your eye.

Question about blood pressure machines?

Regarding BP and automated BP machines:
1. The cuff size may be too large/too small for you, resulting in an inaccurate reading. Most BP machines have standard adult cuffs.
2. If you do not position your arm correctly (with the artery over the "sensor"), the result will be inaccurate.
3. Automated BP machines usually have a sign saying "this information is not intended for diagnostic purposes; see your physician...." or similar wording.
4. Blood pressure can vary as much as 20mm Hg (top and bottom) in less than a minute.
5. "Normal" blood pressure varies greatly among individuals under 18. Normal blood pressure in adolescents (I am assuming you are under 18!) is often calculated by age and height. For a highly technical table of this, see http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/guidelines/hype...
6. Hypertension in adults is generally defined as systolic (top number) over 140 or diastolic (bottom number) over 90. Prehypertensive BP is considered 121-139/81-89. However, BP readings in this range for one day does NOT make you at risk for hypertension. BP must be consistently in this range for a period of time for you to be considered hypertensive.

Bottom line? You probably have no cause for worry. (Worrying, by the way, raises your blood pressure!) If you have other health problems, such as being overweight, kidney disease, or diabetes, or if you are on medications, you might want to talk to your physician if you feel you have high blood pressure.

Is my blood pressure really high?

I'm 16 years old and my blood pressure is 128/81. I got my blood pressure tested in one of the store machines at Walmart.
I'm not overweight and I generally eat very healthily. I'm 5' 7'' and I weigh 140 pounds. My measurements are 35-26-38.
My parents tested their blood pressure too and theirs was 110/70 and 105/72. Is my blood pressure really high? I'm constantly stressed out because I'm taking six AP classes and I'm prone to having anxiety.

Is it normal for a 16 year old to have high blood pressure (prehypertension)?

I'm nearly 17 years old and my blood pressure is 128/81. I got my blood pressure tested in one of the store machines at Walmart.

Blood Pressure machine gave me three different readings...?

Next time have your BP checked by a trained personal, and that the machine is properly caliberated.

Are 'in store' blood pressure machines horribly inaccurate?

I can't answer the question directly and BP does vary moment to moment but I will give you these factors to consider.1.  Appropriate cuff size is tremendously important.  A cuff that is too small will read 30 points high.   A cuff that is too big gives less of an error except if it is way off.  A Nurse picks the cuff size.  The store machines have one size fits all (on most ones).2. The proper and most accurate way is with a calibrated mercury sphygnomamometer and stethoscope done by a medical professional who does them multiple times per day.  They are done at rest in a supine position and done 3 times.  Merely talking pushes your BP up 30 points.  Your chest compresses to push air out and your heart compensates by raising your BP.3. Often BP taken at the doctor's office registers higher because of the "white coat syndrome".  Patients are a little nervous. So I can't tell you whether they are accurate of not, but they do not measure the same way a good medical professional does.
