What Is The

(a) What is the coefficient of static friction between the box and the floor?

Formulae:
Frictional force = Coefficient of friction X Normal force
F = ma
(a)
Normal Force of box = 2.3 X g
= 2.3 X 9.81
= 22.563N

Since net force on box is 0, frictional force = force exerted = 20N
Thus, 22.583 = Coefficient of friction X 20
Coefficient = 0.8864

(b)
Normal force = 22.563N (a)
Net force on box = 0.5 X 2.3
= 1.15N
Frictional force = 20 - 1.15
= 18.85N
18.85 = Coefficient of kinetic friction X 22.563N
Coefficient = 0.8354

What is the NPTEL online exam paper pattern?

NPTEL is a great platform to learn from experienced professors who have worked on the subject and have a good teaching experiences as well. They explain each topic very patiently and clearly. In case you get any doubts you can ask in the forum, but you might not receive response to your doubts as quick as you might think of.I wrote the NPTEL exam this year and i have written it in the previous year as well. The pattern of the paper will depend on the course which you have chosen. The pattern of the questions for the course which i chose last year and this year were different. But the following things were common:Section I : 1 mark questionSection II: 2 mark questionSection III: 5 mark questionThe number of questions in each section will depend on your course and obviously on the professor who is setting up the question paper.My Experience this year and previous year:In the previous year, there were questions from the assignment mostly. But the sad part of the story was that i did not study assignment questions and studied only from my hand written notes, instructor’s notes and the videos as well. So i ended up sitting in the examination hall for a longer period of time as i had to analyze the codes given in the question and solve the numericals for some of them. 3 hrs of time was still more than enough for me to finish the paper.Whereas this year, NPTEL had a surprise for me:NO QUESTIONS FROM ASSIGNMENT. ( Except 2 to 3 questions )But here comes the good part of the story. Luckily this time also i studied from my hand written notes, instructor’s notes and the videos . So i was pretty comfortable with the questions. But yes, i had to think a lot to conclude to a solution this time as compared to last year.So the bottom line is , study thoroughly from the video and understand each and every concept they explain. You can skip the instructor’s notes but not the content in the video. So i would suggest you to make notes parallelly to watching videos. This will save a lot of time a day before the examination.Good Luck!!

What is the chemical name of water?

Well the naming of covalent compounds rules applies. Water is made from hydrogen and oxygen, two nonmetals.The first element listed gets a prefix di- since there are two hydrogens in H2O. So the first part of the name is dihydrogenThe second (and last element) listed will end in the ending -ide. So since there are no more than one oxygen you will just go with oxide.So it’s dihydrogen oxide.NOW… the other way is to have the oxide take the prefix mono- cause there is only one oxygen. So the name becomes dihydrogen monoxide.
