What Is This Eczema On My Hand

I have eczema on my hands?

I have recently had the same problem, and for me, it is because I work with motor oil at work - usually eczema on the hands is because of your body reacting to something coming in contact with your hands. Some recommend putting moisturizer on your hands and covering them with gloves. What works best for me when I do my little eczema ritual, is to first run hot water over my hands and clean them with a gentle bar soap - non-fragrance, non-comedogenic, non-irritating (Cetaphil and Dove Sensitive Skin are the two I use). Pat with a towel, but leave some water droplets on your skin. Rub a moisturizer/ emollient onto your hands. I use Cerave, which is kind of expensive for a tub of it but it really works well for me. Put regular Vaseline over the worst patches, which you should then place large waterproof bandages (I use the kind for surgery wounds) over those patches. It's difficult to try to get the bandages to stick sometimes, so I either wear moderately tight-fitting cotton gloves, or wrap fabric Ace bandages around the bandages. This sounds like a lot, and it's a real pain, but for me it took only a few days before the itching stopped and the skin began to look presentable again. Wear the gloves and cremes overnight, and if you can, during the day/parts of the day. Don't use any lotions on your hands that have fragrance in them - your skin is very sensitive right now and can flare up from products you use everyday. Try and locate what may be causing your eczema, and either stay away from the irritant, or put Vaseline on affected areas to create a barrier between your skin and the irritant. I feel your pain on the embarrassment - I wear long sleeves that hang over my hands so people don't see how they look. Oh, and you HAVE to try to itch as little as possible. Use cortisone cream or oatmeal spray to make it less itchy. They are dry and therefore itch, so you should tackle the dryness problem ASAP. Hope this helped - good luck!!!

How can I get rid of Eczema on my hands?

I've suffered from eczema for my whole life and i can tell you that none of these natural remedies work. You need a hydra cortisone cream from the doctor which has a high %. It will clear it up.
Then you need to stay hydrated, i know this sounds odd but it's true. Drink plenty of water because this stops your skin from dehydrating. Once the cream from the doctor has cleared it up, start using a 'perfume free' intense moisturiser on your hands from the chemist. Don't use soap any more, go for sorbeline or some other soap free, perfume free cleaning product.

I have hand eczema. How do i get rid of it?

I have contact dermatitis (aka eczema) on my hands too. First if you know what caused it (like washing your hands at work too many times, chemicals or substances coming into contact with your skin) avoid it. If you can't avoid the cause of your eczema you will always have it. It will come back even if you treat it. Now I got rid of my hand eczema by using hydrocortisone cream. It's pretty cheap at walmart. I just bought the cheap equate brand. About 3 something for a tube. It took me about 5 tubes. Apply it twice a day for a week or so (read the directions). It is the most effective thing I have found to fight eczema. Works with in days. Try a tube you will see. Once you get it under control you have to prevent it from coming back. To do this you have to protect your hands. Especially from stuff like dish washing soap, hand soap and even shampoo. Any thing that irritates your hands is bad. Wear gloves or put on some Vaseline intensive care lotion. I do this before I go into the shower. It helps. If your hands are like mine were getting water on your hands should case them to get really itchy and burn. I used to rub skin off my hands in the shower.

How do you get rid of eczema on your hands? My skin keep cracking and I'm getting bumps. It's also very itchy. Please help!?

You can't get rid of it, but a good quality lotion will help. Aveeno, Udderly SMOOth, and O'Keefes are all good options. Oddly, facial moisturizers also work really well, though they tend to cost more. Ponds makes a very affordable face cream that I use during flare-ups. Try to avoid heavily scented or colored soaps, and use rubber gloves when working with scented or colored cleaners when possible. You can get prescription lotions, but in my experience, they are no better than good quality over the counter brands.

Tiny bumps under the skin are often the result of a particularly nasty form of eczema called dishydrosis.... I have it.... The bumps are actually miniscule blisters at the base of nerves. They eventually scab over, and are intensely itchy, most commonly occuring on the hands, feet, knees, and elbows. Unfortunately there is little that can be done for dishydrosis.

I have dyshidrotic eczema on my hand!!!?

That is a chronic disease, which means that you will always have it. The steroid ointment should help reduce the rashes. You might be exposing your hands to something that exacerbates the condition.

You should look at the list of things on this website that exacerbate the condition (make it reoccur.) It also lists some other treatments that may help reduce the symptoms.

Eczema on my breast?

Sounds like it could be eczema, or it could just be regular acne.

If they don't itch or look rash-like it could just be acne. Wash your chest daily in the shower with warm, hypoallergenic soap. Wear cotton clothing or shirts that breathe, especially if you're going to be exercising and/or sweating. And after any sweating, wash and change into a clean bra and shirt.

The rashes on your hands could definitely be eczema, especially if it runs in the family. My hands are a hot spot for my eczema, it happens there alot.

See a doctor about a prescription cream that can help keep it under control. Moisturize with gentle lotions like Aveeno, I find that regularly using Aveeno has reduced my eczema outbreaks.

Good luck!
