What Is This Type Of Pipe Called

What is this Metal pipe type percussion instrument called?

I've been to a few different Taiko performances (Japanese drumming) and I noticed that they often incorporate a strange instrument that looks like a large metal pipe, with a larger diameter in the middle, and smaller diameters on each side, played horizontally and hit with small metal sticks. It is not a Vibraphone or Tubular bells. It is one large solid pipe laid horizontally about 1 - 2 feet long producing only about 3 tones. What is this instrument? I can't find any information about it.

What is actually the meaning of PVC pipe AW type?

poly(vinyl chloride)
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is a widely-used plastic. In terms of revenue generated, it is one of the most valuable products of the chemical industry. Globally, over 50% of PVC manufactured is used in construction. As a building material, PVC is cheap and easy to assemble. In recent years, PVC has been replacing traditional building materials such as wood, concrete and clay in many areas. Despite appearing to be an ideal building material, concerns have been raised about the environmental and human health costs of PVC.

There are many uses for PVC including vinyl siding, plastic cards (Credit, ID, etc...),window profiles, gramophone records (hence the ones made of this material are sometimes called vinyl records), pipe/plumbing/conduit fixtures, bean bags; and, in its soft form, for clothing, upholstery (car seats), flooring, roofing membranes, electrical cables, lightweight hobby artillery, etc. The material is often used for pipelines in the water and sewer industries because of its inexpensive nature and flexibility

What is this type of heater called?

That appears to be a steam radiator.
In buildings a radiator is a heating device, which is warmed by steam from a boiler, or by hot water being pumped through it from a water heater (usually, if not quite accurately, referred to as a "boiler").

Such radiators transfer the majority of their heat by radiation and by convection.

Is it A, Pipe, C or A, Pipe, B? (volleyball backrow attacks)?

Most teams call a set to middle back a pipe. The prevailing name for the set to right back when I was coaching a men's college team was D. My opposite was always hollering "D ball! D ball!" The most common label for a set to left back is A, but I've heard a variety of names for that one.

I've never heard of a set to right back being called a C though. The usual usage for C is a chute set to the middle hitter in the front row. B is a hard sound to hear when there's a lot of noise on the court; I even avoid words starting with B when naming sets.

If you want to go all college on your back row attack from right back, start calling it a D.

What is this Metal pipe type percussion instrument sometimes used in Taiko performances?

kane

The kane is a type of bell from Japan. The same pronunciation of the word in Japanese can also mean metal or money. It is a tradition in Japan to ring the large Buddhist temple bells 108 times a few minutes before the new year. This tradition is called "jooya no kane." Often accompanying Japanese folk music, or min'you, is a dish-shaped "kane," or bell. It is often hung on a bar, and the player holds the bell in place with one hand, and beats the kane with a specialized mallet with the other. There are two specific sounds that the kane makes: "chin" and "kon." Chin, is when the mallet hits the interior sides of the bell, while kon is when the mallet hits the flat round inner face. When teachers of the kane dictate a rhythm for students to imitate, he/she does so using the vocables "chin" and "kon." IE- "kon kon chiki-chin kon chiki chiki chin kon kon..."

What is sounding pipe of flush type in shipbuilding? can anyone give me one image?

"Ballast tanks typically have an open pipe—called a sounding pipe—that is used to measure, or sound, the amount of water inside a ship’s ballast tank. To sample through the sounding pipe, a long piece of tubing is inserted into the sounding pipe and lowered to the bottom of the tank. Water is pumped out through the tubing and filtered through mesh sieves, which retain and concentrate small algae and particles. Sampling through the tank’s sounding pipe is the easiest way to sample ballast water."

What makes pipe tobacco smell so good?

There are two general types of pipe tobacco: flavored and English.Flavored blends have a topping or casing on top of what are usually cheap tobaccos. English blends (regardless of where made) have no toppings or flavorings, and are combinations of different varietals of tobacco.

Vanilla and cherry are probably the most common flavorings. Ironically, many of these flavorings have the tendency to negatively impact the smoking experience due to moisturizing additives needed to get the flavorings to stay in the tobacco. This is also what is added to "crowd pleaser" type cigars.

English tobaccos can range from fairly mild smelling to an overpowering smell that some characterize as woodsy or smokey. Others just stay it stinks. :) The varietal that tends to do the most for the smell is an oriental tobacco called Latakia. Pipe smokers who like it tend to like it a lot, and those they live with tend to hate it. :)

There are some natural flavorings, such as deertongue, that can be added to tobacco for flavor and odor.

As the final irony, the pipe smoker generally cannot smell the smoke itself. Whether the smoke overwhelms the senses or what, I'm not sure, but the smell of a pipe is generally just for others.

If you like the smell of a tobacco, ask the smoker. Many of them will go on at length about what they are smoking.
