What Is Wrong With My Betta

What is WRONG with my betta fish?

Honestly I think nothing is wrong with her. Bettas will rest at the bottom of a tank, or in your case, bowl. The Zig Zagging means, you have an active Betta. But I notice you say she moves as if she is agitated. So this is what I recommend.
Get at the very least 3 gallons for her. I know you most likely bought her in a small bowl or cup, but the common rule of fish still apply. The rule is, "For every inch of fish, have 3 gallons". I would also recommend a heater set around 75-80 degrees. It is a common myth that bettas don't need heaters but betta's are tropical fish and like warm watter. Can they survive without one? Of course they can. Will cold watter cause stress? You bet you butt it does.
But all in all I think you betta is fine. Resting at the bottom of the tank is common for betta, especially if they are as active as yours.
Good Luck. I hoped I helped.

What is wrong with my betta fish and what can I do to treat him?

You are correct in your analysis that your betta is "ancient." 4 years is a long time for these fish and demonstrates the fact you have been taking good care of your friend. We'll done.Lymphocytosis is certainly a possibility as might be a tumor caused by any number of things, but often by viruses. There is little by way of direct treatment that you could do that would not also stress and possibly harm the fish further, so your best bet is to maintain a clean environment for your finny friend, and do what you have been all along. Avoid big changes in water chemistry, temperature, etc. and see if he can fight off the problem himself.

What is wrong with my betta fish?

I have had my betta fish for almost a year now. About 2 months ago I noticed he had a really hard time swimming. His butt sinks towards the bottom and he really struggles to get to the surface of the water. I thought he was dealing with constipation so I tried the fasting and cooked pea trick many times and I even tried the epsom salt bath a few times. It has not worked at all. He still has a really hardy appetite and gets excited when I feed him. Im thinking maybe he is hurt? His color seems normal and he doesnt appear to have a bloated stomach. The water is kept clean and the temperature is regulated. Need some advice to help out my poor fishy :( Thanks!

What is wrong with my betta fish?

A few days ago he started acting weird where he would just stay at the top and randomly throughout the day he would have these "spaz attacks" where he would dart about the tank running into things like he couldnt control his swimming. So i assumed it was swim bladder disease? And apparently this can be caused by over feeding so i didnt feed him for a day and started feeding him less. Now he stopped having those spaz attacks but he still only stays at the top of the tank and doesnt move. He used to go after the food and eat it all but now he doesnt budge when i put food in. And today i tried tapping on the glass to get him to follow me like he used to and he kinda turned toward my finger but it looked like he couldnt figure out how to actually swim over to my finger. It looked like he was trying but couldnt. So now im worried because obviously he wont eat and he'll die without food. Idk what to do. Whats wrong?

What is wrong with my betta fish and how can I g t him better?

My betta fish has this white area under his face/belly and also some yellowish. I’ve been treating him for ich but so far hasn’t gotten better at all. What could be wrong and how do i get him better?

My betta fish died after 2.5 years. What did I do wrong?

I’m very sorry about your loss.On average, bettas in captivity live to 3–5 years (once you remove the extremely high premature death rate due to poor husbandry/shipping/pet store conditions, and due to ignorance of many betta buyers). There are numerous recorded instances of bettas living past 5 years, with the record being 10 years.Since pet shop bettas are generally about 6 months old, your betta may have simply passed away due to old age. From your description, it is also very possible that he was constipated, which eventually killed him. Constipation manifests as bloating, lack of pooping, and lack of appetite. Left untreated, it can kill fish. Constipation can be caused by overfeeding and/or a poor diet. Fish in general do not need to eat a lot. You can feed a betta just a 2–3 pellets a day, once a day, and you can skip days too. Many aquarists will fast their fish one day a week to prevent constipation. Many aquarists will also feed their fish peas once a week (frozen peas that were thawed, shelled, and mashed) to make sure they have enough fiber in their diet. It’s a good idea to supplement pellets with other food, including peas and other veggies, and frozen and/or live foods like bloodworms, mysis shrimp, blackworms, brine shrimp, and wingless fruit flies. Pellets, even high quality pellets like those made by New Life Spectrum or Omega One, don’t perfectly replicate a natural diet. It’s hard to tell why your betta died without knowing the full set of circumstances (including water chemistry parameters). I’m hoping it was simply because he was old.

I Think Something is wrong with my betta!!?

There are 2 things that can make a fish scratch himself:
a.) external parasites (ich, velvet etc.)
b.) irritation from crappy water quality.
Assuming that a 5 gallon tank is an upgrade from whatever he is in right now and you haven't noticed any visible issues with your fish (gold dusting, salt like grains etc.) the latter is much more likely.

Since you already have the 5 gallon tank prepared, I'd advise you to move him into his new setup but make the acclimation very SLOW (and read up on how to do it properly). Your fish is unwell and sudden changes of water parameters (i.e. moving, large water changes) can affect a sick fish more than a healthy one. But it's still safer and healthier than living him in a smaller container.
Also: if his previous setup had a filter don't forget to use the used filter material to jump start the nitrogen cycle in the new one.
