What Is Your Best Back To School Tip

What are some back to school tips?

Well makeup, you don't need much. Just some mascara and cover up. Less is better in my opinion.

Skinny jeans and cute shirts are a plus. And cool sandals.

A way to spice up your locker are notes and pictures of you and your friends and family. A mirror and cute magnets.

Always stay on the teachers good side. Be polite and always ask questions when you don't understand something. Even if its something stupid. Always let your grades be your first priority.

And don't let people make fun of you or put you down for any reason. That's just wrong. Be yourself! That's what important. Be the best you can be.

Back to school tips with type 1 diabetes?

Don't worry. I've had Diabetes for about 4 years. I got it in the beginning of middle school and I was really nervous and scared. It's actually not so bad. You're supposed to be taking your insulin shots in a nurse's office, so you shouldn't worry about anyone pointing it out and asking if you're doing drugs. Give yourself shots in the bathroom.
When you're at public food places, check your number in the car and either take your insulin in the car or the bathroom. If you want to take it in the car make sure you know for sure what you're gonna eat and how many carbs is in it.
Sometimes when people see me check my blood sugar in the nurse's office they either ask if it hurts or they ask what I'm doing or something. No one has really made fun of me except one person in 7th grade but it was one sentence. Most people are like "Oh my God you have Diabetes? You poor thing!" so most people won't be mean to you because it's a disease.
After over at least 8 months you don't need to take shots from needles and you can use the pump, which you only need a shot once every three days and it doesn't even hurt. I won't explain it all but to get one you need to take care of your Diabetes. I've had mine for two years and I love it.
Wow, that was a lot but I hope it helped!

First day at new school, tips?

Just be yourself. When you're in class act the way you did at your old school. On my first day at a brand new school, I tried my best to be outgoing, and over time, I naturally made friends. The classroom is a great place to meet new people, and a good way to weed out any bad influences... from there, you can choose who you want to hang out with.

When lunch rolls around, if you do end up sitting alone, I'm sure someone will approach you and ask if you want to hang out with them. And don't forget, you won't be the only new student there. There are usually others who will be in your same boat.

Just remember... act natural, and you'll be fine :)

Good luck on your first day at your new school!

How to come back to school looking hot?

Alright, this is gunna be kinda long, but here we go!

Dye your hair. (I think brown hair is really pretty)

get contacts (if you have glasses)

Deep condition you hair (do it every week, it makes your hair look really healthy)

straighten your hair (use a good heat protectant just don't do it all the time)(4 times a month, once a week)

gain weight (okay first you are waaay too skinny! you should be like 120- 130.)

dress nicely. (don't wear what everyone else is wearing, start your new trends!)

wear make up. you can use bb cream and mascara. curl your eyelashes and but on some eyeliner. eyeliner on the bottom makes your eyes look smaller so I don't really like that. the top is good though. always make sure to use a face cream before you put on make up! also, blush. you can wear some lip gloss and when putting on eye shadow, wear white in the corners, it brightens up your eyes.

don't kiss ***, walk with confidence and your head up high and ALWAYS smile. not creepily but you know what I mean. when people compliment you, take the compliment. for example a guy says you look pretty, don't be a lil poop, say thank you. not uhhh okay? when girls pick on you, make sure to stand up for yourself, not "please stop!" say something right back at them. make it so that they know that they cant get to you. when they cuss or something at you, don't do it back, it just makes you look low class and that they're worth your time. just be like "aha, cute." or "lol, okay." and just continue on what you were doing. and also DON'T BE SHY!!! just act like how you are with your friends. who cares what other people think? just be yourself! trust me, it works.

oh and also, wear jewelry! it makes the outfit pop! earings also tend to make my face appear smaller(:

What are some good first-day, back to school tips for High School students?

Others will have advice about other things, but I will focus on the academics (because I’m a college professor). Do not miss the first class, and READ THE SYLLABUS. Sorry for the all caps, but do NOT make the common mistake of thinking that “nothing important happens on the first day - we just go over the syllabus”. The syllabus (and this is even more important for college classes) has the most important information about your class: not just who teaches it and where/when it meets, but the best way to contact the teacher, what you will learn, what the expectations are, how you will earn your grade, usually an outline (sometimes very specific) about what will happen when, and you MUST read every word of every syllabus. College syllabi are often detailed and often have the answers to most questions (i.e. “when is the assignment due? How many pages should the paper be? When is the next exam? What is covered on the exam? When is the final exam?”). Before you ask your teacher a question, READ THE SYLLABUS. The answer is probably in there. Of course you can ask for clarification, but be as prepared as you can be for class and know what is expected of you, what your instructor wants you to know about him/her, what the goals are for the class, how and when you will be assessed, and how your grade will be determined.Good luck to you!

Tips on going back to school after knee surgery?

I had knee surgery back in December of 2009 and am having my second one in January. I am a senior in high school so I have had to dealt with/am dealing with the same issues.

What knee surgery are you having?

I had a lateral release/medial reefing on a Monday and returned to school on a Friday. I know it might seem that getting back to school is the most important thing at the moment and it's difficult to miss school, but you should focus on getting better.

You will need to keep the leg elevated and iced regularly. Also, the anesthesia can take a few days to wear off and the pain medicine may make you sick or tired or energetic, affects everyone differently. For me, it was sick and tired.

You will definitely need the elevator and I recommend leaving class a few minutes early so you don't have to deal with the congestion in the hall ways. Also, take your time on crutches because depending on where you live, the floors may be slippery due to wet weather. Have a friend carry your stuff or get a light backpack.

Rest at home for a few days and have your friends tell you or bring you the assignments. Email your teachers, that is what my teachers had me do to keep me updated on what I was missing.

I am a little freaked out too about my knee surgery in January because I am having it the week before midterms.

Bring medicine to the nurse in the morning with the doctor's note for it. That way if you need it you can have it no problems. Also, if possible, if you have a study hall, free period, or lunch go to the nurse for ice as your knee will swell from you being up and walking on crutches and so on.

Make sure to just eat well, sleep well, and don't stress out too much.

If there is any questions I didn't answer, put them in your question as an edit and I will help if I can.

EDIT: I rode a school bus with crutches and the leg immobilizer. Go slow and take your time. If someone rides with you, have them either carry the crutches up the steps or hold your stuff. If not, remember to always go up with the good leg (good leg to heaven) and go down with the bad leg (bad leg to hell). Meaning, when you go up the stairs step up with your leg then bring the bad leg to the same step and repeat. Going down put your bad leg down first, making sure to hold on, then bring the good leg down the same step.

Good Luck :)
