What Is Your Costume For Today

Can I see a photo of your Halloween costume 2017?

Yes!I'm very happy with how my costume turned out. I worked hard to get all the details I needed. I went as Eleven from Stranger Things, my favorite show right now! I dressed up with the blonde wig and pink dress from season 1.While trick-or-treating with my family tonight, I got compliments from a variety of fans and I when a walked past people I heard either "Eleven!" Or "Stranger Things!" It was really fun and I felt really good afterwards. (Just because, like everyone else, I love compliments.)The dress is from Hot Topic, and it's made out a thicker, brighter fabric as opposed to the other thin and more-easily-wrinkled Eleven dresses at Spirit stores. However, I did get the athletic socks from a Spirit store. Here is a close-up of the socks paired with some white shoes I got from a costume shop.(A photo without the skirt held out)The jacket is borrowed from my mom, so I don't know where it came from, but I think it looks pretty accurate.I also used an old blonde wig cut short to match the length of El's wig in the show. It reached my shoulders and was super fluffy, though frizzy too.See what I mean about the wig?I also added her 011 tattoo on my right arm. (Don't mind the junk in the background.)And of course I used a genuine Eggo box for candy! I used a marker to make my nose look like it was bleeding. (Professional, I know.)This is the best picture I could find of my whole costume put together. I'm pretty proud of it!Happy El. :)Oh, and did I mention that the actress who plays Eleven and I have the same name? We're both Millie! (I go by Millie, short for Amelia.) I would put a comparison photo of us side-by-side to show how crazy similar we look too, but I don't want my face on Quora just yet. Just take my word for it. Friends don't lie.

What would Jesus's Purim costume be?

I wonder if there’s any official Zealot costume. Jesus was literally a member of Zealots, I think. So, he would dress up like a Zealot.

Where can I find the best cosplay costumes?

I can give you some information. Cosplay is the imitation of name stars, main characters, and animes by wearing their costumes, props and myriad outlets. It’s simply wearing outfits and accessories to depict a favorite character. It’s a coin of two words- Costume and play. Sounds fun isn’t it?In our current generation, TV, superhero films, fantasy fiction, comic books and video games are what is in vogue. But it’s just not enough to watch or read about these superheroes. Most people believe cosplay is more like a celebration and expression of love for their favorite characters. One great act of public homage to say Spiderman or Elsa from Frozen is to cosplay and wear costumes that depict them. The accuracy of cosplay is measured by the ability to perfectly depict or represent a character physically and cosplayers are most often than not faced with the challenge of body limits i.e. body size. One interesting thing about cosplay is that it can help people with low self-esteem. The outlook of cosplayers at public events makes famous and a popular draw for photographers. Do you fear accidentally wearing a costume on the wrong day?

I actually did that one time…We have something named “Moharam” month in Iran, which is about one of the important people in Islam religion getting killed, and everyone…EVERYONE wear black at that time, and no one smiles and it’s forbidden to have loud music in your car or house. So on that day, I went out, not knowing it was “Moharam”, I was wearing a red T-shirt and normal skinny jeans, with headphones on, listening to music, and…well…I was feeling myself! Now if you don’t know how bad that is let me just show you a picture of how normal people wear clothes in that month:*They are hitting themselves because of how “tragic” what happened 1000 years ago is, no offense but i don’t understand them at all…And this is what government tends to do with people who are not wearing black in public (this happens rarely but it does happen) :And this is kinda what I was wearing:*Add headphones your self.As soon as I walk out of the house and got to the main street, I realized what I have done! I look around and everything is black, people are crying and they are sad…and I'm wearing a red shirt and I'm smiling! I turn around quickly heading back to my home, to change clothes when I hear an old man shouting: “You are disrespecting our religion!” And he started to say some unpleasant things! The old man came closer and closer and…slapped me!Fortunately I live in a good neighborhood and the street was kinda empty at that time, the old man keeps shouting and insulting as I start running towards my home, in the way home I can feel people staring at me.So yeah…I do fear of wearing wrong costume on the wrong day…Also feel free to edit my answer, I probably have lots of grammar mistakes.

How can I make this Halloween costume less slutty?

So, I went costume shopping today.
http://www.onezumiverse.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/robin.jpg
This is what I got.
As you can see, it's pretty slutty. I'm only 15. >.>
But I could really use some advice on how to make it less slutty.
I'm already planning on wearing leggings, any idea on how to make it appear less low in the chest area?
And I'm not going to be going trick or treating, just to a show and a party so I don't have to worry about being too cold.

Can you please assist with a costume idea?

Can you help me with an end-of-the-world costume?

I'm going to an end-of-the-world party tonight, and I need cheap costume ideas. And places I can purchase said items. I will only have 2 hours after work today to get whatever items I can get. Budget is a little tight, so I'm hoping to get everything for around $50. Or less.

Any ideas? I reside around Centreville/Manassas/Chantilly, Virginia, so anything local would be a huge help. 2 hours! (I was invited last-minute, so that's why I'm asking about getting stuff quickly.)

Thanks!

What Halloween costume have you worn in the past that you'd never wear today because of political correctness?

A Native American outfit. In my closet, I have the Native American outfit that I wore in Kindergarten. I can’t remember exactly which holiday I wore it for (Halloween or Thanksgiving), but either way, it’s not exactly gonna fly today.A 5 year old dressed like this:(not me, just from google)So cute! Total cultural appropriation, especially with the feather headdress, but who yells at kids? I think I’d regret letting my future nonexistent kids wear that sort of outfit, but either way, it’s innocent enough. For those who don’t know, non-Native people wearing feather headdresses is especially offensive because it amounts to Stolen Valor (wearing military honors you didn’t earn). This is not so innocent:(also not me, thank goodness)Firstly, because I think this girl has on less clothing than the kindergartner, and because she’s old enough to know that bastardizing another culture into basically glorified lingerie is the practical definition of cultural appropriation and privilege. Also, Stolen Valor, pt. 2.Yeah… no. Gonna pass on dressing up like a Native American ever again.

How effective were the costumes worn by plague doctors at protecting them from being infected?

Apart from protecting the “doctors” from the plague itself (at least in terms of the pneumonic plague), the getup was entirely useless.First and foremost, let's clear up some centuries-long confusion. According to new research done in the 21st century, the plague was NOT originally caused by fleas, but rather Asian Girbils. Also, Florence, Italy was NOT the birthplace of the plague, it originated in China.Furthermore, the Black Death was not all one plague. The term refers to three separate strands of the same plague. The Bubonic Plague (land-borne), the Pneumonic Plague (air-borne), and the Septiemic Plague (blood-borne). Many people do not know this, regardless of how important it was.As for the plague doctor costume. No, it did not serve it's purpose well. The original purpose of the costume was to protect the doctors from the plague. As stated earlier though, it was three plagues, not one. The suit protected the doctors from two plagues, but not the third. The suit did not save the doctors from the Bubonic Plague. It did not let the Septiemic Plague in, and blood could not enter wounds or pores through the suit, but animals could still bite trough it.Unfortunately doctors were not skilled with medicine as they are today, and over two-thirds of the world's then population died in this outbreak. Thanks for the A2A!

How do i convince my parents to buy me a halloween costume?

so, basically today is halloween and i still don't have a costume. i had planned on being a living doll, and i've been scouring thrift stores and vintage secondhand shops for weeks looking for a dress to wear with no luck. i had planned on originally wearing my homecoming dress with a lot of makeup and curling my hair, but the straps of my dress broke off and i don't want to run around all night thinking about making sure my top stays up, because the dress is pretty much falling off of me now. the thing is, they've been the ones driving with me from thrift store to store looking for dresses, which wasted about 15 dollars of gas. i'm 14. i have no money. so i can't buy it myself or pay them back. i asked if i can work off all my debts, but they are still saying no. the costume is 35 dollars, and this is my last year trick or treating so i kind of want to go out with a bang. so it's an apple costume, lol. :D anyway, how can i convince my parents to drive me to the store and buy the costume for me now, then allow me to work off all my debt from the gas money and the cost of the costume? thank you.
